When did Walmart start selling Schons???

If you was to run a search through the wal mart search engine youd be surprise how many different pool cues they sell, the higher end cues are online only I believe..

Sorry to say but those rounded points and inlays look at home in Walmart. I understand that Schon's have a desireable hit, however, from an aesthetic standpoint I find them to be quite lacking.

Maybe more people will see how serious pool can be when they see the price tag on these at Walmart.

My guess is they have some type of deal with a large distributor - like cuestix, or maybe some billiard retailer like Muellers...???? They have a buncha brands and seem have every cue from each's lineup. I will also hazard a guess that 99.99% of the billiards stuff for sale online, will be just that - online.

Sam's Club had high-end golf clubs available online (and I mean latest and greatest - newest drivers our from Callaway, Titleist, Taylor Made, etc.)...not sure if they still do, but I do know I didn't see any of them offered at my local Sam's.

Some online retailer or billiards distributor is giving Wally World a kickback from sales, and trying to reach a larger market - again, just my guess.

To be honest, I don't see a problem with Walmart selling any manufacturers product. The world has changed and this economy is not helping matters. Who's to say who may sell a Schon? They're on sale on this site every day. At least if you buy it at Walmart, you're dealing with an honest vendor who will gladly refund your money if you're not satisfied. You also read posts at least weekly about some deal gone sour on this site.

Are the new Schons any good without a third party shaft? It seems as if anyone using a Schon todaynever uses the original.

very sad

I really hate that they went to this,,I will never look at schon again,I mean what will the fun be to go to your local room to show off your new schon and someone blurts out where did you get it from "wal-mart",,I have always placed schon at a higher level than any other production cue,but not any more,,just my .02,,,WM

Personally, I am not a big fan of "the world has changed" and a "global economy" BS. What it means is that affluent countries farm out the manufacturing to poorer countries. Now, that is supposed to be great for everybody...the affluent get their products for lower prices due to the cheaper labor abroad, and the poorer countries' citizens are helped by the influx of better wages and more jobs. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Take a good look at the "global economy" of today's market....sort of sux, if you ask me.

I don't care what walmart does and does not sell, as they will never get a penny from me. Hopefully they will all burn down at once. Whati want to know is why would someone is searching walmart online for pool cues in the first place?

That is a valid question:wink:...But Wal-mart selling Schons is very surprising.

Is this a bad time to mention I have brand new Schon STL-18 w/0B-1 & 314^2 with couple of hours of play on each shaft for sale or trade?

1100$ takes it home. :)

Schon Cues

I'm not going to worry about it until Wal-mart starts posting on AZ.
The guys that don't like the links to Ebay are going to love the links to Wal-mart.

Everybody get out their gift cards.........
