When did Walmart start selling Schons???

what, exactly, is the problem with Schon allowing their cues to be sold by the world's largest retailer?

If I was Schon, I would be jumping for joy and popping champagne. If you have Wal-mart selling your product, you just jumped up the food chain in your industry.

I would lose respect for Schon when/if their product quality goes down the drain. I just don't see any reason why anyone should have a problem with this. It's not as if Schon is an "exclusive" cue whose value is going to drop with more cues on the market.

Now if they start slashing prices and people can buy their cues for a fraction of what they used to sell for, then that's a problem for the used cue market... which is a valid reason to not like Schon cues or want to purchase them. Resell value is a significant factor for cue buyers.

To be honest, I don't see a problem with Walmart selling any manufacturers product. The world has changed and this economy is not helping matters. Who's to say who may sell a Schon? They're on sale on this site every day. At least if you buy it at Walmart, you're dealing with an honest vendor who will gladly refund your money if you're not satisfied. You also read posts at least weekly about some deal gone sour on this site.

That's why some of us here on AZ have worked our tails off to make sure the people we sell to are completely satisfied. Check out the iTraders of the people you deal with. I know there are several people on this website that I would not hesitate to send a cue to before I received their money, and I know they would do the same for me, because they've done it.
I hope I'm not embarassing anyone but Bill (Cornerstone), Doug (DWBOD), Jamie (Worminator), have all sent me cues before I've paid for them, and I've done the same for them. These relationships have been built over time and I know for a fact these guys are rock solid. I've left out dozens of other awesome AZers, but I mention these three just because of the circumstances that be, there was a time-crunch, and I needed a cue asap and they understood the situation. So while I understand your comments about dealing with an honest vendor, there are honest people here as well...

If you notice they are following the MAP pricing guide lines set by Schon. Walmart selling the cues will not effect the market at all on Schons. I bet they do not sell as many as you think. They are only available on-line and are set at MAP price. They are in the same boat as Seyberts and Pool Dawg. But I bet that either of them sell way more then Walmart.

I can see the threads now, and they won't be in the NPR.

"Deal gone bad with Wal-mart"

Sorry not interested...
I can get it at Wal-Mart cheaper...:grin-devilish:

That price is with a schon shaft only. I'm throwing 2 LD shafts so I can beat Walmart price. :(

It is a really nice looking cue and Walmart doesn't offer it.
Well, probably not yet................ ohh, welllllllllllllllllllll............ Anyone looking for a Walmart cue????

I don't know what the big deal is. I have been buying my cues at Walmart for years.

Yea, no joke.....when guys start getting thier azzez handed to them by guys like us shooting with Wal Mart cues.....maybe they will take notice

If anyone is to embarrassed to use their wal-mart Schons let me know. I'll pay the shipping to my house. I STILL LOVE MY SCHONS

ok, I'll say it....

if Hollister brand clothing were sold at Walmart, all the 14-17 year olds would STOP wearing it immediately regardless if they bought their Hollister stuff there or not!

this thread is starting to sound JUST LIKE that scenario....c'mon.

An STL14 will still be an STL14 whether you get it online from Billiards Warehouse, Pooldawg, eBay, or YES, even Walmart. sheesh

do you have a bunch of Schon cues on ebay right now?

Folks,

I checked his ads out on ebay. I wish I had some stick money to spare.
No Schon factory fair trade pricing here (Bigfan999 on ebay). This guys prices are the lowest I've seen for Schon, in the ($200-$300) range. His ebay prices seem too good to be true. I bought a humble plain Joss not a few months ago and paid more.

I would hate to be a Schon dealer with a big stock of sticks. His prices may be the market ceiling for Schon in this recession period.

Does anybody here actually read?

Hey guys,

READ THE WEBPAGE! This actually Walmart Marketplace. Thus, the cue's aren't being retailed by Walmart itself.

Instead, the concept is the same as Amazon Marketplace: random retailers can sell their stuff through Wal-Mart. So basically Wal-Mart is acting like a glorified craigslist, or dare I say it, AZBilliards Forum.

A more important issue is why the retailer, CSNStores.com is carrying it. My guess is that it's just like Overstock.com, it just takes in merchandise from a variety of sources and resells them. Maybe Muellers had an overstock of inventory, like someone suggested earlier. Or maybe a pool shop closed down?

Save John's Phone #

Poop...another deal gone South (he who hesitates). I may be able to get an advance on my inheritance from my 90 year young Aunt? Think she'd advance me some to buy a cue stick? I'm gonna save Bigfan999's (John) phone # (815) 712 1227, just in case.

I could ask my uncle if he'd loan me the money. The last time I asked him for a few $. He said he would... when he straightens out! He rings the bell at a church. I Think its called Notre Dame.

Do they carry the S Series or the R Series? No, ok then it doesn't effect me in the least. LOL Dull points work at Walmart.
