my case is a 2x2 that looks exactly like that..
the name on the zipper pull is "Action"
decent case.. nice protection... but the vinyl is starting to chip... it has seen a few miles..
is it just a knock off?
or is the case in the picture just more of the same??
I intend to get a new case... and I want it to be my case "from now on".. I want something nice and simple that provides decent protection that I won't have to replace... ever...
what do you recommend??
The case I showed is a descendant of the Porper design which itself was borrowed from Meucci before that.
Your Action case is similar in appearance but that's where the similarity ends.
These are the advantages of the cases we build over similar looking ones;
1. The interior is made of soft cloth backed by foam rubber. So your cue is cradled snugly in a secure and protective embrace. I have gone over the specifics many times but you can get more in depth descriptions by reading through the JB Cases website.
www.jbcases.com Almost all the top-loading cases we sell have some sort of John Barton designed/modified interior in them.
2. The bottom of the case is made with a non-slip rubber pad.
3. The handle and shoulder retainer straps are lined with non-slip rubber. This means that they stay put where you place them.
4. The zippers are the highest quality available. (some overlap with older stock which doesn't have the new zippers)
I cant guarantee that any case you buy will last forever. I try to build these as durable as possible within the budget allowed. I mean it's just not possible to build a Zero Halliburton type of case and sell it for $55. Every improvement costs more and it becomes a real test to design the most quality for the lowest cost.
I guarantee you two things with Sterling cases.
1. I put everything that I know from 20 years of building truly protective cue cases into each one and try my best to make it the best in class.
2. Both Sterling and myself stand behind the products we sell 110% and will fix or replace any case that does develop a problem.
