I agree, I should have just given him the tracking number. I blatently did not give it to him out of spite.

Dan,

Well, you get a gold star in the "brutal honesty" column, and a big old "F" in the customer service column.

Let me guess - your occupation doesn't require any customers, right?

Chris

Ps. The City of Los Angeles could definitely use a guy like you.

To gator Joe

I think the buyer should keep the money 2 days for every day he made him wait for the tracking number!

D Lewis couldn't complain, as long as "in the end" he gets his money back.

I think if I was the buyer, I would STILL make him send me the tracking # directly! Just out of spite! Either send me the info personally, or I won't close the claim. (yes I know it doesn't matter at this point, but it is all about principal :p). Just because he has been such an ass about going completely out of his way to NOT do something he has alreadt admitted that he should have done.

Just hold on to the money as long as you feel like it, just make sure that at some point you give it back to him. Maybe send it in a birthday card or maybe next christmas!

And add a month to it for everytime he bothers you about it or mentions it in any way. Just remind him that you said you will send it, and that he will get it at some point in the future. You surely don't have time right now to deal with it.:sorry:

He should be completely understanding of this arrangement. After all, isn't that how business is done?

So let me get this straight I should trust u. You told me there was no shipping info on the paypal but then how did u know it was coming to my house and not my bosses. Then u told me it would be shipped on Monday then u waited a week to do it. So rite off the bat u gave me two miss truths and then think I owe u trust and the benefit of the doubt. I was raised to believe that a man is only as good as his word and in the end his word is all he has and that his word is the ultimate measure of his true worth.

Please enlighten me on what I should be banned for?

Opening multiple accounts is against the rules, you shouldnt suggest such things.

I never once lied or beat around the bush, I call them as I see them. I admitted I made a mistake, I got frustrated with the buyer and because of that, I didnt tell him the tracking number.

I'll pack my bags, any hotel suggestions before I get my own place?

I do enjoy your creative posts, after all, having the tracking number WILL speed up the shipping process.

Actually, it may; UPS and FedEx, among others, have made many shipping errors recently at my work...with the tracking numbers, we have been able to locate items shipped that were lost in their system, contact them, and have them shipped to the correct address, or simply alert UPS for example that thier one day shipping lane from NY to Philly is over four days late...

And, no offense, it does uncover people from 'promising' to ship, and not doing so until a week later, even after payment was made.

We often will do this with new accounts who are paying by business or personal check. We DO advise them of this up front, and in todays economy, they fully understand. If I did this without their knowledge, AND promised to ship a week prior...I would expect them to get irritated. It's just not the way to go about doing things, IMO

The shipping info on the paypal account is different then the address you ended up giving me. Since the address was under Brandi Reynolds, I asked you for the correct address. Since you're NOT Brandi Reynolds, you probably cant access all of her paypal info, so you cant get the tracking number.

If you check any of my previous deals or anything Ive done on the board that involved money going one way or another, my reputation should have spoken for itself. I do my best to be an upstanding forum member, I pay on time, I support business' that support the board and pool. Ive been screwed by another member on a bet and I wouldnt screw anyone else. Unfortunately you became fixated on one thing and you decided to message me beyond belief, I was very annoyed so I didnt give you the tracking number. The cue would have been there pretty quickly so I assumed it would show up quickly after you asked for the information so I ignored your requests.

It was wrong of me to do so, I should have sent it to you when I shipped the item. I will openly admit that.

When the payment was originally sent, there was no shipping address posted in the payment. Thats why I had to ask you for that info.

Two questions. Did you get this cue yet? How long has it been since you sent payment to Mr. Lewis?

Tracking info shows the cue not shipped as of yet. Last info was Feb 3rd in NJ.

Payment was sent Jan 20th, address provided Jan 21.

on the 25th of this month, i asked an Ebayer for the tracking #-No response twice so i wait til 2 days ago and open a dispute or whatever its called. He then comes up w the Tracking # which shows the item was delivered to the next town over on the 23rd. If he had given me the info to begin with, Im sure we could have gotten to the bottom of it and retrieved the item. Now it is way too late and its 100% on him. We will see how the new Paypal full guarantee works.

Maybe somebody with a ton of online selling experience could write a sticky for the Wanted/Sale forum advising best practices for both parties in a transaction.

Not RED yet?

Maybe a slice of Humble Pie would help D Lewis see the light.
30 days in the RED hole. Let's hit it.

D lewis: You darn near told the man you were sorry in this post.
Never mind now it would not matter with the attitude you have displayed.:frown::frown:

D_Lewis, you should stick to bets :-)

I think you owe an apology, and I hope he gets the cue soon and that he cancel the paypal-dispute.
