way to go

I always wanted a predator, Finally got a used sneaky , Wow! I thought it was the best , Then I got a 314-2 shaft WOW! This is even better seriously! Then I got a chance to trade for a nice cue with a OB-1 shaft,WOWWWWWWWW! It is absolutely the best of the best in my opinion. Start with the OB-1 and take the time to adjust to it you will be amazed. You will never look back.

its all personal preference... both shafts are excellent... I would also consider the Mezz HBII... I currently play with a 314-2 and I think it is the best shaft for me... I don't like how there is no feedback (i.e. you can't feel the hit of the cue) with the OB-1, but thats just my opinion

also consider

I use the OB2's consider giving them a try if your able......I love them, and as mentioned......Royce and his crew take a back seat to nobody in customer service and product quality.....Dan

shafts

I know this subject has been spoken on before thanks guys for the feedback!! i did shoot with a friends ob-1 and it is kinda crazy that you dont feel the hit im just want a stiff shaft i like a real firm hit!!!

I played with the Predator for 3 years, and the OB-1 for several years.

I found the hit to be firmer with the OB-1, not with the Predator. I found the deflection characteristics to be the same.

I found the Predator customer service to be the WORST IN THE ENTIRE WORLD; they ruined 2 of my shafts and would not replace either one. Totally uninterested in my situation (described in detail on the forum before); very poor form in my view.

The OB customer service has been fantastic so far. They stand behind their product (Predator hides behind theirs). JMO.

I prefer the 314-2 over the OB... I could not believe that I could not feel any bit of a hit with the OB 2... I would not say that the 314 is stiff, by any means... However, you can at least feel the hit. This is not to say that the OB shaft is a bad product. On the contrary.. The OB shaft is a quality product that you can trust. As far as deflection goes, I would say that they are similar. It is simply a matter of personal preference, which shaft you choose.

I'm in agreement in regards to it being a personal and will even agree that the feel of the hit differs from product to product.....but I have a hard time understanding the complete absense of feeling.....

First, a thanks to all those OB Players who have posted good things about us and our products. We value your opinion very much!!

Now, for those who feel as though the OB cue shafts don't enough feel, I have just one thing to say:

Stay Tuned!!

We will be releasing information about a new shaft very soon, and I think it will be just what you guys are looking for!

Trust me, it's Classic

Now is that a teaser or what?!! :p I have the same feeling now as when the OB Break shaft was announced but didn't hit the retailers just yet

Who cares what anyone thinks or have to say. To be absolutely unbiased in my recommendation, try them both and get a feel for them. Which ever you are more comfortable with is what you should go with. After all, it's your cue in the end. No one can tell me what "shaft" I want to play with. It's my shaft dammit :D

Ok,

Here's a little info.

We have two new shafts in production right now.

The will be called:

The "Classic" and the "Classic Pro".

Launch date for these is March 18th. We will have inventory available to our dealers prior to the launch date, so they will be available!

Both shafts will be our same SR-6 blank construction, but with a few twists.

First, there will be no sound dampening core in the center. What this means is there will be no hole, so the shaft is much stiffer. It also means that the sound dampening is gone, so the shaft will make that "ping" that many are looking for.

Secondly, they will have a white ferrule. We have developed a method to install a small white ferrule and still keep the LD properties of our cue shafts. The plastic ferrule makes the hit a little more firm, even over and above the already harder hit with the solid blank.

The Classic will be tapered like the OB-1, and the Classic Pro will be tapered like the OB-2.

That's probably more than I should have said at this point, but there it is.

Does that mean that the new ob1 will be stiffer?

I think you said the right things. You have new products coming; they'll be out next month.

Those that do not seek to improve while at the top are destined to be passed at an alarming rate.

Poolplayer

I'm not sure I understand your question. I didn't say anything about changing the OB-1.

Our current shafts will stay the same.

We have 2 new shafts, the Classic and the Classic Pro. These 2 new additions to our product line up will be stiffer than our current cue shafts of the same tapers.

I hope that got it!

How much are the new Classic Series going to run on the price? Would you be able to leak a hint Royce? I am VERY excited to hear this, I love my OB2 right now and am not going to switch to anything, you have won a customer here, I am loyal to the OB lol
