I have a favorite shaft! I want it duplicated? I have several shafts that I need the taper turned down to match my favorite one. Who can do this type of work and duplicate my Favorite shafts dimensions as close as possible? Also, what equipement is needed to acheive this?

I heard of taper bars for shaft work. Just wondering if I should get one made to match my favorite shaft or maybe get a CNC program disc to keep for future use to allow me to have shafts maybe to my exact specifications.

I hope I am not sounding like a nut case? Just, got lucky and found a magic combination that works for me and want to preserve that combination and HOPEFULLY be able to reproduce it.

just measure the diameter 1" at a time all the way back and you can keep it written down to tell whatever cue maker is doing your work what specs you want your shaft.

some of your other shafts could probably even be just sanded to match while some will probably not be able to be matched at all b/c there will not be enough meat in certain spots of the shaft and still some may need to be cut likes you said.CNC is nice for that for sure.

Contact Ryan from Ratcues, you will need to send him the shaft but I am certain that he can and would be glad to duplicate the taper for you. As for buying a Taper bar or a CNC program trust me it doesn't work like that, no offense but let some one who knows what they are doing do the job, it is not a very difficult job to do.

Measure it at 3-inch increments.
It can be drawn on cad or mastercam after that.
 
i guess every inch was quite extreme,but that is what i used to do as a collector to all my good cues and i guess it became habit.

I wrote my program this way.
Tip, 6" from that, 6" after, 4" after ( so I have the first 16 as my taper ).
To the 23" point then the last 6 to match the butt's taper.
 
The shafts dimensions can be duplicated by any competent cuemaker with the use of a cnc. Now the playability of that shaft does not always work out the same way. Give me a call if you are interested. My number is on my website.
