High Praise for John Schmidt - Player Review

I don't buy it.

I asked him if he was without sin himself and he said "yes I'm perfect, and the more you realize this the better off you will be."

I was at the SBE last year and had a front fow seat to see John win the 10-ball, and that was NOT the John Schmidt I saw. The John Schmidt I saw was very pleasant, interacted with the crowd, and was quite frankly a down-to-earth really nice guy.

Danny, I don't know the whole story, but in reference to your above quote, perhaps it was you who was flustered and showing your a$$ and John saw the opportunity to get in your head and gain a competitive advantage (and as a competitor, who wouldn't seize that opportunity?). If that's the case, it looks like it worked.

exactly

exactly ,of course im not perfect i just said that because danny was preaching to me about sin or something and i said that to get him to leave me alone.

Folks let me tell you something about John Schmidt. Not only is he an incredible ambassador for our game but he is also an incredible guy.

He has literally offered to have me come down to his home to take lessons from him. I mean honestly who does that. To have someone within your home.

When I first met John it was years ago when he was on the road in NY at my home room. He was down to earth, an incredible shooter, and everyone had nothing but praise for him.

Guess What NOTHING'S CHANGED !!!

Danny normally I don't say anything bad about people but you need to grow up. It is clear that it is simple jealousy that leads you to poke and jab at John. You are an incredible player so leave it on the table and not in the forums. You seem like a nice enough guy and I hope the best for you in your professional and personal career but your latest post in here was completely uncalled for.

John you have my support one hundred percent and I cant wait to see you down at the expo again.

Danny:

I love watching you play, based on the one time I saw you on ESPN some years ago.

You were born to it, so get out there and play, and let your stick do the talking.

100 % right in every word. Danny should stop that Bullsh....

I somehow got this weird feeling seeing Danny's post pop up in this thread, because I hadn't seen him post in a while. I was curious and looked up his last few posts and this was the first thing he's said in months.

It almost leaves you with the feeling that he skims the forums and pretty much ignores most of the stuff unless he spots something about john, then he's got to jump on it.

The same page that shows when his last post was also shows the beginning of his most recent posts, so without much effort I could get the gist of what he's saying on here. I'd say out of the last 20 posts... like 95% of them were pretty much hating on something (mostly the UPA) and complaining about something.

I have no idea what he's like when he's away from the keyboard, but I get the impression danny is a tightly wound up, angry, kinda passive aggressive unhappy dude. Even if he's got legit gripes, it's a shame he can't see anything positive to get out of this forum. You're not gonna find him making those posts like "I'd play that with low left and go three rails" or "congrats to so-and-so on their high run" or "good luck with your hospital stay and hope you feel better".

I dunno what point I'm making exactly... it's just kind of a shame. I hope the real danny is a happier guy than Danny Harriman, Registered User on forums.azbilliards.com. :/

Again populer opinion = squat to me

I am tired of seeing the clicks in pool, John I do not hate you and or am I jealous of you either. I just realize that there are people who act very gracious when there comfortable. The men's Pro Tour has allway's been very clicky' and the popularity contest goes on and on blahh blaa, etc, vowel. Chad from the Action report even had to reprimand John and tell him to shut the *&^? up and shoot pool once when John was feeling threatened and acting poorly. He is not the only one guilty of this type of behaivour, I seriously doubt John would have given me a rematch if I would have been defeated in our first match up.

Please realize that I poke fun at John a bit cause I can, TAR offered him $ if he were to find the internal fortitude for a 3rd rematch against me - John graciously declined that offer. I think he said something about he would rather be eaten by a goat or that he had a life and I did not. I guess that life includes backing away from a battle that he knows is close. I understand John is now giving lessons, great for him cause I do think he should choose his pool battles more cautiously.

My offer still stands and I will play the great John Scmidt a 3rd TAR all around match up on nuetral ground, I need 1 month to prepare and I do believe John (Mr. Perfect) deserves this final offer from me. Our record stands 1-1, if he were to win in the 3rd match up I would stand corrected, the only way I will play is for an appearence fee and mandatory ref. Win or lose I will promise the folks at home watching some great pool. He has to promise me however that he won't throw chalk at me like he did in our first battle, wow how graciouse was that? There must have not been anyone important in the room and you could not see it from the overhead TAR cam but believe me this did happen and there was no apolagy after the incident. I won't apolagize to him if I were to defeat him in a 3rd all around, ohh and John if you read this just realize that the goat may be tougher than u think and *&^% splatters after it falls. Is this positive enough for u Creedo? I hope I get some points for the good towards my rating system Creedo, it's so important to me. Good by John me got a go mee ohh my ohh, son of a gun we'll have big fun on the bayou. Hey we could play in Lousiana I understand John has a backer from there, it will probably never happen as John has many excuses as to why he will decline my offer - just ask him.

Danny, Danny, Danny. There you go again, acting like a child. I don't blame John for avoiding you. I wouldn't play you either. Since God is on your side, what would be the use?

The word is "clique".

I don´t think anyone here wants to hear anything more from you Danny !:nono:

Oh, I don't agree Sascha. Danny is a great player and if he could just overcome his childish impulses I think most of us like to hear from him. His 280 run video is one of the best.

Think you're missing my point danny. Which is basically that you come across like a hurt, bitter guy.

Yeah, it's not a popularity contest but this forum isn't just words on a screen, there are real people on the other end of all that typing. Regular players, gamblers, kids, sponsors, commentators... even a handful of fellow pros. You talk as if everyone here are nits and railbirds and beneath you. But these same people, if you met them in real life, you'd have no problem liking them.

What good is it if you're professional to 30 people in the same room but show your ass to 5,000 people on the internet?

Take a page out of John's book and try being professional all the time. And if you wanna argue that he's not, that he lost it while playing you... well, maybe that's true. But to be honest, you seem like the kinda guy who had it coming. You're definitely a pro at baiting people. I kinda wanna throw chalk at you too =)

Does anyone know why TAR doesn't have the Action All Around 10 ball matches between John and Danny Harriman available on DVD?

i haven't seen a rivalry like this since fats dissed mosconi in public resulting in a televised showdown. if the networks are paying attention, they could turn this into a real moneymaker spectator 14.1 showdown. i know i'd be tuning in. if it would end in a brawl on the table, the ratings would go through the roof . :grin-square:

danny you are not telling the truth.
its on video and you can bet 5000.
i did not throw chalk at you and you know it.
i swiped at the chalk trying to pick it up very fast and accidentally knocked it off the table,in your general direction .i then said im sorry danny and told you that was by accident.
now would you like to bet i threw it or accidentaly knocked it off rail trying to grab for it. its all on film.

another thing our record is not 1-1 .over the last 10 years my record against you is about 6-2.
frankly the only reason you won in louville was because i just switched to a new shaft a week before after 10 years with the hunter cue and i played awful against you.you won 30 -28 .it was the worst pool i ever played.

to be honest if you werent so brutal to deal with i would give you a rematch but you are such a pain in the ass crybaby of a person im not going to.

by the way i can play many other players in the world who play as good as you and who are gentleman to play.

ive seen you get into a altercation almost every tourney ive ever seen you at.

when i told many tour players you and i were going to gamble they all told me good luck dealing with that pain in the ass crybaby.i should have listened.

again im waiting to bet on the chalk throwing issue.

by the way those are nice pics of you on the missouri state website.
the next time your on here throwing stones at me and everybody else about how to act maybe you would like to fill everbody in on what im talking about.didnt think so.

by the way if if i played 14.1 as much as you and my high run was only 280 i might kill myself ,but for you 280 is pretty good lol.

hey danny its not fun getting mad is it , bye for now john mr chalk thrower schmidt.

p.s. im starting to get the sense that you dont like me.

I want to tee it up with John. I hear he is pretty good on the links too. At least I can hold my own there:). If you are in Baltimore and there is no snow on the ground, we can play wherever you want. I am a member at the best club in the area.

14.1 love the game

I have been following this thread and have to say both of you champions have been given a gift the rest of us wish we had.I have meet you both numerous times and have become a big fan of both. You both are lighting the way for 14.1 for the rest of us.It seems like it was keeped in the dark for a log time.Thank you both for bring this great game back to life.We all have flaws that we can change and grow from. You two are young and have a so much talent & time ahead of you yet. Some day you will laugh togeather about this. It's been a long winter around here and spring is in the air.So lets have a FRESH START for the sake of all the past 14.1 players.THANK YOU BOTH FOR YOUR CONTIBUTIONS TO THIS GREAT GAME.>>>HANK<<<
