My New Glasses...

Well gang, It's time I reported back on how my new prescription billiard glasses are working out and I've got to tell you I wish I had gotten them years ago.
This all started a month back with a thread I posted asking anyone about some input on eyeglasses and pool playing. I got a lot of good information from you kind folks and ended up buying the 'Billiard Glasses' from Dr. Gordon Harrison out of Quebec Canada.
I've had them over two weeks now (it took about a week to adjust to them)and the difference is extraordinary. The table is brighter, the balls bigger, and the edges of the balls are crystal clear. Not only has my ball making percentage gone up, especially on high angle cuts and long shots, but I can see the good looking chicks clear across the poolroom.
If your balls are getting fuzzy, do what I did. Go to Wal-Mart and get a cheap eye exam that includes pupilary distance, and get a hold of Dr. Harrison.
And, thanks again for the help.

i use them too,ive tried the others and they are the best for me

If they need to be special ordered, why not just go with contacts. Wouldn't that be just as easy? I wear glasses but I end up looking over the top of them and for that reason I am going for contacts next week. Can't wait to be able to see the balls crystal clear. Also going to be interested on if my game improves with them. I really hope so.

Tramp, do you have bi focals?
I wear bi focals and luckily I don't have to wear them while playing just yet.
I tried and find it hard to adjust.
If there is an advantage to using the pool glasses and I can get them in bi focals, I will most likely look into getting a pair.
I need all the help I can get some days.

My balls are getting fuzzy, but I don't think glasses are going to help.:rolleyes:

Indeed I do, Blue. These are lineless bi-focals. Check out the website by googling 'Billiard Eyeglasses'. Good luck.

Dr. Gillette can help you tho.
Theres a guy where I play that has a pair and got them locally. They look the same as the website. I'll check them out.

I found that my regular lineless bi-focals work fine for pool if I use Wedgees to hold them up higher than normal. They work really well. www.wedgees.com

Did you get the optional coating?

Did you have to get them fitted?

Thanks

No. Accoring to the good doctor, coated lenses were not necessary since I had never worn glasses before. As far as fit goes I took them to my local eyeglass retailer and they bent them to fit my handsome face. No charge.
