i suspect that that footage comes from either the practice round (on tuesday) or the par three tournament at the masters which is held on weds (the day before the masters starts). in either case there is a tradition of players attempting to skip the ball off the water and onto the green... as for the subdued part, the masters maintains very tight controls on the crowd. for instance, if they catch you running anywhere on the grounds, they toss you out...
