I get a few questions about whether I actually play the game or just sell it...Well, sometimes I play so poorly that I wish I didn't play! Still getting used to my first ever pair of glasses, but I racked up 7 games of 9-ball on Thursday night, and ran 4 of them out. I post the evidence...feel free to critique/bash/suggest. 9' Olhausen table - Granito Tournament 2000 cloth and Pro Magic Rack

Chris...It was just one game, but I liked what I saw...nice pendulum stroke/no elbow drop; pretty consistent warm up cycle (except on the 8 where you went crazy with 20 fast mini strokes...lol), with a pretty good pause at the CB (a little too short to suit me); nice controlled backswing and transition, with a very smooth delivery of the cue (good timing); and nice use of stop shots, without having to "drill" the CB! Overall, I'd grade you B+/A- on what I saw. Nice job...most folks would get a C at best, regardless of whether they ran out or not.

Two things:

1. I like the table, how is the Granito cloth treating you?

2. Is that Silvercup chalk that is spraying all over the place and leaving puddles on the table every time you shoot hard? :p

I have always liked the Granito product - great speed and durability in my book!

Actually the chalk is Masters - the one piece is so worn, the label is white instead of red!:eek:

Thanks Scott, that's quite a compliment considering your reputation an an instructor! All 4 runs are posted - none are picture perfect - but I think I am pulling out of my nosedive due to never having glasses before. John Schmidt told me that my mechanics and knowledge were already there, and that I was lacking confidence, so it's great to get positive feedback from guys that know!

Just a tiny bit. You could stand to stop smoking too, if you're a smoker. You were breathing so hard it sounded like Darth Vader was walking around the table. Just looking out for you, man, not trying to be a douche.

Chris...DUH! I'm not used to Photobucket, and didn't realize the other racks were there! More of the same good stuff. That was a NICE masse'...simple, accurate, and easily delivered (lol...and then you just jumped down and shot the next ball with no nothin'). I love your break (no exaggerated followthrough). It proves that you don't have to hammer the break to get a good spread and make balls. I haven't seen that rack template you were using...looks pretty neat. Great shooting. Are you from MI?

And i know your feeling about glasses :-) Don t panic, you ll soon feel so comfortable with em. I started pool again after a 10 years break and was forced to play now with glasses......it was horrible for about 2 weeks- now it s like before.
Very nice mechanics, keep it up bro^^

I've seen most of the great players in the last 50 years and you ain't one of them. :grin: But you look pretty good to me. If we lived close we would be a good match up. You do stand a little upright is that your normal stance or the result of new glasses?

I assure you, this wasn't about bragging to be something I'm not. I have been in this industry for over 15 years, and a few folks have asked if it's all theory and no practice? And yes, the upright stance is a result of the glasses.:mad: Thanks for the input:)
