That's for sure....Let me refresh your memory, his favorite name he used to insult others was doofus. And I don't remember him ever stating any facts or making any cogent arguments. Good riddance.
He was the next spot under hondo....PJ is one of those guys that HAS to be the smartest person in the room.
He just couldn't stand to be wrong or over-shadowed.
So, when he was being trounced in argument, instead of graciously bowing out, he would start slingin' $hit.
Joey,
I grew up in New Orleans, and I love crayfish, and I have crayfish-boil parties often, and I still don't know what you mean here ... so I doubt anybody else does either. Could you please explain?
Thanks,
Dave
Thanks. I can't wait to use the "crawfish analogy" in an actual sentence ... and have somebody know what I'm talking about.Steve knows!![]()

It's obvious that it belongs in your "glossary". This is a most common expression here in Louisiana and the deep south where the Mudbug is almost like family.
To Crawfish (not crayfish): To back away quickly. To go in reverse. To reverse positions as when you realize that you have made a mistake in judgment of matching up in a game of pool.
You can polish it up as needed. No charge.
When "crawfish" becomes part of your glossary, I will honor it with an incredible story about the real deal of crawfishing which happened years ago with my Cajun brother-in-law and I. Or maybe I'll just tell the story when there's a lull in the action at one of my commentary gigs.
(Sorry my mudbug pal. :embarrassed2::thumbupNot you, Dave. He knows who he is.

OK. You convinced me to add it to the glossary. Here it is:
crawfish: To back away or backtrack quickly when approached or revealed, like a crayfish when startled (e.g., when a “nit” backs away from a bet after his wager gets called; or when a person tries to quickly “fill a hole” he has already “dug” for himself).
Thanks for the "freebie." I owe you one ... how about "squerve?"
Regards,
Dave
OK ... I'll bite. Let's hear it.Crawfish story within a month, either on commentary gig or here in the forum. Does anyone really want to hear about an incredible story about actual crawfishing?
That's for sure....
