Where is Patrick Johnson?

PJ is one of those guys that HAS to be the smartest person in the room.
He just couldn't stand to be wrong or over-shadowed.
So, when he was being trounced in argument, instead of graciously bowing out, he would start slingin' $hit.
He was the next spot under hondo....

I always enjoyed PJ's pool related posts here in the Main Forum and hope for a speedy return.

....wondering if it is possible to only be banned form the NPR section.

Joey,

I grew up in New Orleans, and I love crayfish, and I have crayfish-boil parties often, and I still don't know what you mean here ... so I doubt anybody else does either. Could you please explain?

Thanks,
Dave

Steve knows! :D

Thanks. I can't wait to use the "crawfish analogy" in an actual sentence ... and have somebody know what I'm talking about. ;)

Uuuuummmmmmm! Ccccrrrrraaaawwwffffiiiiisssshhh! ... so cunning, yet quite tasty.

It's obvious that it belongs in your "glossary". This is a most common expression here in Louisiana and the deep south where the Mudbug is almost like family.

To Crawfish (not crayfish): To back away quickly. To go in reverse. To reverse positions as when you realize that you have made a mistake in judgment of matching up in a game of pool.

You can polish it up as needed. No charge. :D

When "crawfish" becomes part of your glossary, I will honor it with an incredible story about the real deal of crawfishing which happened years ago with my Cajun brother-in-law and I. Or maybe I'll just tell the story when there's a lull in the action at one of my commentary gigs.

(Sorry my mudbug pal. :embarrassed2::thumbup:) Not you, Dave. He knows who he is. :D

OK. You convinced me to add it to the glossary. Here it is:

crawfish: To back away or backtrack quickly when approached or revealed, like a crayfish when startled (e.g., when a “nit” backs away from a bet after his wager gets called; or when a person tries to quickly “fill a hole” he has already “dug” for himself).

Thanks for the "freebie." I owe you one ... how about "squerve?"

I never got paid for that one either....

Oh well, I guess your free tips on the forum are more than enough payment.

Crawfish story within a month, either on commentary gig or here in the forum. Does anyone really want to hear about an incredible story about actual crawfishing?

OK ... I'll bite. Let's hear it.

Thanks,
Dave

I wouldn't mind if the guy came back. I figure after 3 months or so, a smart guy like him should get the picture. If they repeat offend, you can then start looking at the lengthy sentences. That's a funny idea about banning him only from NPR :P I found even his pool-related posts to occasionally be pretty aggressive. I can't imagine him in NPR. I keep the hell out of there.

On the subject of the pool Glossary, I thought JB coined a pretty funny one with "drinking the Houle-Aid" ...it's kind of mean, but since a Hal fan came up with it, it's not so bad.

Carry on with the crawfish story. We should get this thread to 981521231 posts so that the mods take notice.
