I agree. But I guess it would be hard to deviate from that design because of the purpose of having an adjustable one for 30" or so.

Yep, and cars have four wheels too. And the taper bar that Unique Products sells look like Chris's and Lee's. Whats your point other than to continue to bust Lee's balls.

actually what you see there is a complete setup for my lathe an upgrade
actually nothing wrong with chris design but ours is differant i am also just making aviable the the bar itself for you to mount on your machine any way you like so its more then just for one machine i just finished up some new taper bars this weekend they need to be detailed and assembled will be ready to ship wensday thanks lee

I am not sure what you mean by a compound screw? There are however, (18) 1/4-20 x 1" long screws that hold the black part on the bar.

20 TPI would have been nice .

Can I cut the butt/handle taper on this withour resetting the shaft taper setting?
I like my forearm to be around half a degree and handle less than that.
If the shaft taper setting is locked but the bottom taper bar for the butt/handle is slotted with a spacer, it'd be a snap.

yes joey you can once your shaft taper is set its set then you can adjust the bottom section to your needs
