Early 70's Joss Cue

I am interested in bidding, but have to get something straight first. If you do not get close to your original asking price, will you then close the auction with out selling? your previous posts allude to that fact.

Josh

I asked this question earlier with no answer. I would be interested in bidding, but I want my (and others) bid to be honored.

The actual bidder backed out after the auction closed. I reposted that auction last week with a minimum bid of $1200. There were alot of watchers, but no bidders. I can repost this on eBay if you wish to bid on this cue again.

:eek:What...I'm trying to figure out what is going on here....Sold for 910.00 on ebay to a bidder with "0" feedback and he backed out and then you reposted it for 1200.00????

Not much to figure out here. The cue didn't sell. I reposted it at a minimum bid of $1200... nobody wanted to buy it. If someone is interested in the cue I can repost it on eBay, if not, I can always let it collect dust in my closet.

I will be at Hollywood Billiards in Los Angeles this week Wednesday - Satuday (morning) if anyone is interested in the cue. I might be willing to do a trade + cash, upgrade, or cash (preferably) transaction.

email me at broker.bryce@gmail.com if you want to schedule a time to meet. I will have to fit you in between my trips to Universal Studios and Disneyland with my son...lol

Now it's at $380....for a JOSS with ivory ferrules and a ivory joint? I have put a low reserve (don't ask). I guess there will be a frenzy of bidders at the last few minutes.

Evening bump...sorry, I will not end the auction early. You must post your bid. My profile is 100% with 348 positive feedbacks.

What happened to the listing?

Someone must have reported it. I thought "Exotic White Material" should be good enough. I guess they don't want to sell it even if I don't list ivory in the description. I presume someone out there keeps on reporting to eBay about this cue. Sigh. It had a low reserve. I will sell it to the eBay community for $1275 shipped. Yeah...that's right "$1275!" This cue has an approximate value of upwards $2000. This cue was built when Dan and Bill were together....it's a damn good hitting cue.

Please email me any questions PRIOR to payment. There are no refunds. I live in the Bay Area (California) and would be glad to show you the cue: Family Billiards or The Great Entertainer.

Ebay is just down the street, this is AZB - What is our community discount? Since we do not have fees;)

Shiet...lol, I started work at 4:30 today. I meant AZB not Fleabay....I am starting to hate ebay; fees, practices, rules and guidelines.

That's a SWEET old Joss!

The person who I bought this cue from informed me that it was built in 1968 when Dan and Bill were together. I have a letter of authenticity from Dan Janes that it was early 70's-78 which is also included in the sale. There is no JOSS logo on the bottom of the butt cap, since this was when they were together at the time. I had it refinished from Dan 12/09 and kept the wrap original. This was the most popular cue style evermade by Joss Cues. The wrap is Cortland line Irish Linin and the points are sharp ebony outlined pale green. The rear is ebony as are the center of each point. The shafts are made of Araina Blanco. There are two shafts with ivory ferrules. The joint is elephant ivory. This is truely a great hitting cue.

Price $1950 (paypal additional 3%) or I would consider trading up (Joss, Gina, Tad, Szamboti, etc).

I will post more detailed pictures later this weekend.

Floppy I don't understand the part there is no JOSS on the butt cap since this was when they were together! I have a 1968 with the same joint collars and I don't doubt that it is in fact a early Joss 68-72 when Stroud and Janes were together, BUT they DID IN FACT have JOSS on the butt cap! I think someone broke your butt cap and replaced it! Check the Blue Book of Cues. Not tring to put it down, but it should have Joss on the butt cap. Ron
