Alison Fisher gets demoed by an 18 year old....

You do understand that these world class players like Allison, Efren, etc... do lose matches to people that are under them, right? It happens. I've never understood why people get so impressed with one single match. Put this Pin up against Allison for 100 matches and see what the final outcome is. One match means nothing.

I agree one match or one tournament doesn't tell the whole story. Johnnyt

Hey now, this is a much tougher field than any "OPEN" tournament. These guys are invited and qualified. US Open 10ball is open to anybody that can pay their entry fee, no?

This is the toughest mens field i've ever seen. Maybe 2nd to most of the World Pool Championships.

The us open 10ball has a very tough field as well and very few birds. It's also $25. Just thought you would want a little action on it.

Ko Pin Yi is easily one of the strongest players on Earth right now. This is what comes out of a country where second tier professionals are world class.

When Wu Chia Ching won the World Championships at 16 he wasn't even the top ranked player in his age group in Taiwan.

Allison has no shot to beat him over distance. He is just that strong. Frankly there isn't any American that wants a piece of this kid - maybe SVB, maybe Dennis Hatch, but no matter WHO plays him no one has better than a 50/50 chance to win.

The Open is a great event and maybe we should be concentrating on how well the player is doing and not whether the player is a man or a woman. In general, men are physically stronger than women (and can usually break better), but I've known some women who were a lot stronger than the average Joe. Let's stop berating women players and start enjoying the play in the Masters. I'd love to see Jasmine, Kim, or Pan take it all.

Even Efren?

I don't mean to be TOO mean to the women in the masters, but I predict not one women player will win there first round match....

I know Pin Yi ko is a world class player but I thought Alison was supposed to be one too? Also Pin is only 18-19, no?

i'll bet 50 that at least 1 of the women will get past their fist match.

i know the upper echelon pros play way better than the female pros but the female pros can still hold their own against anyone that's not in the top 10 (imo).

ga young kim and jasmin ouschan play well enough to compete with the men. im pretty jasmin has played in the mens tournaments before and gave a lot of 'em a run for their money. i heard she beat thomas engert. any truth to that?

It would be hard to get a bet on Allison getting the 7 in a race to 20 or more against Ko
It might even take giving odds on the money

US OPEN 10 BALL players are ones who have qualified or received an invitation from CSI.....

Good luck to all,

Mr. J.

Even Efren?

Even Efren. Especially in tournament play. I mean these guys exemplify the expression "never miss".

I feel that any pro can beat any other pro in any given tournament match. Sure, rolls go a certain way, a few key misses here and there, etc....

Which is why I said 50/50 or flipping a coin - no one's got a better chance than that to win against Ko Pin Yi on average.

I mean Ko Pin Yi could get name-stung and lose to Efren because of that but I think his 11 pack on Orcullo in the finals goes a long way towards showing that he is pretty seasoned already.

It wouldn't be hard at all.
Cliff Joyner gave her the 7 and got there when Allison was in her prime.
Cliff played better then also but not Ko's speed...at least not at 9-ball.
You'll get more action than you want....a lot more

When Allison played Cliff she was in her prime but she knows a lot more about 9-ball now than when she first started playing it when she came to the US. If KO gave her the 7 with alternating breaks I might be tempted to bet a $100 or so on her in a race 20. I'm not really positive but I don't think Allison has lost much if any of her game at this time. I think it has more to do with Jasmin, Ga Young Kim, Pan, Yu Ram, Shu Han Chang, Corr putting more pressure on her, and some of the rest of the women on tour that have stepped up their game compared to 6 years ago. Also the smaller pockets have slowed her down a bit I'm sure. I also think she might be a bit burned out with the WPBA. JMO. Johnnyt

I will have to politely disagree with Allison's game not having decreased in quality. I have heard several people say this also. The fact of the matter is, Allison does not play pool right now as well as she used to...not by a long shot actually. She still has the occasional display of brilliance, but her game has declined in the past two years. You compare her glory years of the early 2000's to her play since early 2008 to present and the difference in level of play is noticeable. And I say that has very little to do with Jasmin, Ga Young or Xiaoting because Allison's game of old still trumps any newcomer. I think a lot of people just easily forget how good she was. She used to go whole events with a handfull of missed shots, whereas now she is more prone to missing shots she would never have missed and doing so more frequently.

You and the several people have your opinion and I stick with mine. Johnnyt

Alternate breaks were not considered in my appraisal.
Ko can run racks.And at a world-class level ,the 7 isn't much
of a spot...comparable to the last 2 at short -stop level.
And tight pockets won't bother Ko,he was raised on them.
But that's just my supposition....i actually admire Allison for
what she has done for the game and wouldn't care to see her get
beat....but i would bet on Ko if it went down.
