CTE/PRO ONE video--CANCELLED

After much consideration, I have made a business decision to indefinitely postpone the creation of a CTE/PRO ONE video.

My schedule for lessons is resuming as usual and all courses will reflect the newly redefined CTE/PRO ONE Aiming System.

I didn't know for sure but I had a feeling that making the video was driven by the wrong reasons. I hope you decide to make one someday, for all of the right reasons.

Stunned and disapponinted. There is a whole bunch of us who because of geographical location can not avail ourselves of your teachings which we would love to have.

Because of your sterling reputation I'll assume that you were not just testing the waters and wish you luck. Former students too upset? Oh well, end result is the same.
 
A disappointment to say the least. I, like many others, was looking forward to something that could show that CTE aiming was the "real deal".

The interest is out there for solid information about this system, so hopefully someone else will step up and provide it.

I keep searching on youtube and the forums for concrete examples of CTE, but so far, nothing.

Oh well, hope springs eternal.
 
Too bad. I was looking forward to it. It would be nice if someone did make a good record of the system before it goes away. The future of knowledge held by few is tenuous at best after more than a few generations.

All due respect but I'm not a huge fan of this attitude. There is nothing mystical about aiming systems. Too many people already treat CTE as a religion. This sort of thing isn't good for anyone in the long run. It alienates and polarizes. I don't have a problem with people protecting their instruction income though.
 
Very sorry to hear this.

This definitely constitutes a bummer.
I am with all those folks who are interested enough but geographically isolated. If you ever decide to reconsider, count me in. In the meanwhile, the best of luck to you.

This is hugely disappointing. Hugely. A CTE video WILL be made before the year is over in some form or another. Too much animosity has been generated amongst well meaning and good hearted folks on both sides for some PROOF not to be put out there.

Also I am firmly in the camp that believes that this information should be out there. CTE blows Ghost Ball so far out of the water IN MY OPINION that it's a shame that no one has made a comprehensive video to date.

Maybe you all are waiting for Hal's permission. I understand that. But the fact is that Hal and his systems have caused major freaking controversy for the past decade or more amongst those of us who have been around. We who know that the systems work have been ridiculed and verbally tortured over our "faith".

I have never felt so much like a religious nut in my life. Only this time it's really possible to PROVE that "god" exists with CTE.

Well it's a bummer after all this and I suspect that there are extenuating cicrumstances.

I predict that somehow or another some CTE videos will get made.
 
Hm,

no offense against Stan, or anyone else personally. I was really looking forward to this project. Further i was trying to force no threads or postings about CTE and Pro-1 because i ve had no personal experiences with it.
But as i m workin also a bit as an instructor and giving lessons i was really looking forward this video to get a serious description about this system finally. I emailed and pmed a few persons (where i thought that they could explain me seriously) but all in all they were ALL nearly similar- all were like: watch this clip.....or just links to uncomplete descriptions....or even just links to Dr. Dave s Site.
With those uncomplete and partial descriptions i was not able to understand and reconstruate it for myself.
After i tried seriously to get serious and correct descriptions about these system i ll end unfortunatley end here. I am really just wondering why noone was able to describe a system which is a so called *easy* system in written words. So i think some may understand that i know have a little problem in believing. So for me personally it s just the commercial thing (which i could really really understand!) that someone don t want to loose a chance to make something with it- or is still not able to bring it down with perfect and *non-discutable* letters.

A little disappointment now here-so the *old-school* way will take again advantage :-)

JB, as a CTE/Pro One user I feel you but I don't believe a CTE video should be released out of animosity. The intention of such a video should be solely that of helping one's game, not proving or disproving any beliefs stated on this Forum. IMO Ill emotions should not be the cause of motivation.

Maybe so but this information is something that really truly can help a lot of players improve. Hal gave it away for free. Hal and I also talked about getting it down on video a few times.

It's not just about animosity and emotion for me. It's about wanting to share something that is truly worthwhile.

Someone somewhere came up with the Ghost Ball method. I have no idea when it first appeared in print but I first saw it in Robert Byrne's book, the Standard Book of Pool and Billiards. (I believe that this is where I first saw it).

No offense to Mr. Byrne because I think that his books have helped millions to become better players but on this point I think that Ghost Ball aiming has at the same time held millions back from becoming even better.

I really think that there are a lot of players like me out there who consumed all things Byrne and similar and who floundered with Ghost Ball and shifted english guessing.

The other night I am watching Borana and OMGWTF and I was thinking over and over and over that CTE would have helped both of them.

It's ridiculous to me to see two passionate players totally struggling when they have all the other skills, the stroke, the stance, the heart and they just don't line up right. If I could have just reached in and tweaked their alignment a little then they would have been pocketing far more shots and not been agonizing over them.

This last round of CTE/Systems fighting has left me drained. I don't know WHY Stan has decided against going forward but I am seriously considering doing something.

I am setting up a primitive sort of studio here in my workshop for the purpose of doing short videos anyway.

The thing is that CTE is not complicated. All the fragmented information has made it seem much more complicated than it is.

Anyway, I am just totally bummed that Stan has decided against this and I feel that those of us who know CTE somehow have a duty to clear it up once and for all. I really felt that because of Stan's stature as an instructor and the fact that he has several professionals who state that they use his Pro1/CTE version that he was the best one to produce the video.

So we will see what happens. As I told another friend I won't be teaching CTE to anyone until I do feel that I have thoroughly mastered it and am able to explain it in simple terms.

I just made the SICKEST shot in the world 30 minutes ago. I wish I had had the camera on it. Everyone should be able to do shots like these without having to pound the rails a million times.
 
A Man of Honor

Stan is the nicest and most honorable man I have ever met. As one of his students I can say that his teaching ability is amazing.

I feel certain that he cancelled the video because Hal did not give his "blessing" to the project for some reason. I believe Stan would never do the video without full and complete support from Hal regardless of any financial benefits there might be for Stan.

If the world had more "Stans" it would be a better place.
