No, I don't. It was posted by billiardshot - if you shoot him a PM, he may be able to tell you.

Judging by how young Mosconi is and knowing his history, I guess that the photo was taken in 1933 or in the next couple of years. I'm not sure what the occasion would be to draw together both pool and billiard champions. Too bad Mike Shamos doesn't post on AZB - he'd probably know right away and could name them all.

Here some info:

Bring on Mosconi

On the heels of her very public New York City coup, Ruth McGinnis was
approach-ed by the Brunswick Company about a possible nationwide tour. Ruth
became the lone woman on a roster of
21 professional billiards players.

Led by the infamous Willie Mosconi, Ruth and her band of traveling cue
artists covered more than 28,000 miles in the summer of 1934. The tour was
such a success that it was revived again and again throughout the 1930s. By
the time she finally gave up her barnstorming ways, Ruth had traveled in
excess of 200,000 miles.

Over the course of these tours, Ruth played an estimated 1,532 matches.
Unbelievably, she lost only 29 times. That represents an eye-popping
winning percentage of .981.

Largely from this experience...and on the word of fellow billiard players
like Mosconi... the McGinnis was accorded an invitation to compete in a
national championship event.

Aha! That's what brought them together - they were all on Brunswick's payroll. Thank you, billiardshot.

I had thought there might have been world pool and 3C tournaments back to back at the same location, and that's why these guys were together. But George "Handless" Sutton wasn't playing 3C tournaments in the 30's (I checked). Then I thought balkline maybe, but doubtful that a guy with no hands was going to be competing, and I didn't find any balkline stuff on Ursitti's site anyway.

Funny Greenleaf wasn't on the payroll - I guess he was too undependable.

A Willie Mosconi & Ralph Greenleaf Mystery

Here's a mystery. In 1934, shortly after Willie Mosconi and Ralph Greenleaf competed together in a national championship, the two icons supposedly went on the road together. Mosconi told stories about the road trip in his biography, written with Stanley Cohen. Both Mosconi and Greenleaf supposedly had been contracted by Brunswick Billiards to promote the sport during a series of exhibition matches.

Here's the mystery part: as far as I know, no one has ever produced any sort of independent confirmation of this long series of exhibition matches. I myself have gone through hundreds of articles in the New York Times, The Chicago Tribune and elsewhere, but have never come across a reference. I've asked a few other guys about this -- including pool historians Charles Ursitti and Mike Shamos -- and they agree that they've never come across any any sort of advertisement or news article to provide independent confirmation of the 1934 Greenleaf and Mosconi tour.

1931–34
Willie Mosconi joins the pro staff of Brunswick Billiards. Mosconi is destined to become pockets billiards world champion 15 times between 1941 and 1957. In 1932 Brunswick sponsors a World Tournament, with Ralph Greenleaf placing first and Jimmy Caras second. Caras was offered his first Brunswick contract to play exhibitions around the country on Brunswick tables. During 1933–34 Brunswick’s staff of 21 professionals travel the country doing exhibitions.

Cannefax died in 1928 so it couldn't be him.

Where do you place Seaback? The first seated on the right?

Name these players

Seaback is in the bottom row far right next to Caras, Pasquale Natalie was my second choice for the guy to the right of Matsayuma. The guy at the top left standing looks like one of the Navarra brothers Juan and Ezekiel I think its Ezekiel but hes much younger than any photo I have.

standing 4th from right looks a bit like Kieckhefer too.....ehhh maybe not

These players

I'm 99% sure the fourth standing from the right is Welker Cochran I tried to put Augie in the middle but that guy is too old , I just read an article from this time frame that said Albert Cutler refereed a match , It could possibly be him near the center to the left of Caras, my money is still on the guy next to him being Pasquale Natalie and the guy in the back being Ezekiel Navarra, I guess I am going to have to do some digging to prove them the last guy to be identified is the white haired seated guy on the left , I have seen his face before and i think he was a big shot at Brunswick .

front row far left? doggonit i know who that is.... ugghh... i think i'm getting old...
