sorry no scooch there.its quite snug and not sure how u could see that. When in the video u can barely see it.
I beleave what Criag is refering too is right about the the 5 min mark of the video when you are putting in the tenon. You can see the tenon hole and tenon has some play in it. You can see the tenon move upward like it has some wiggle. It might not be a whole lot but I can definitly see it too. And that is why you should bore the hole as Pedi describes in above post.
I like to bore that hole too and leave the top 1/8" snug ( about .002 under of the tenon ).
I use 5-minute epoxy as well.
Good video Dave. Looks like the tool box lathe can hold its own at any tournament. I had doubts just looking at pics of the lathe so it was nice to see it in action.
