Why ask the question, if you don't like the answer?![]()
yo i dig the answer for sure. i'd just like to see some proof since they're so routine he shoots them all the time

If you wanted proof, then you should have stated that with the question.
Mind you, not all people care about proving anything to anyone, and not all people actually own a camera in the first place so you should expect to be disappointed.
And i'd be willing to bet that the majority of shortstops in every region, would be able to do these shots given some practice, let alone, any pros.
If you are not in the skill set of those that can do these shots, don't be a hater, go practice more.
There's a difference between, for example, Mully's response which sounds sincere and honest, and Wybrook's response which sounds like he'd rather be saying "yeah, duh - what are you retarded or something? who couldn't do those? idiot."
That's the whole debate here.
I see you want to just keep egging this on....
I wasn't the least bit arrogant until you started being an ass and doubting I could do anything, just because you can't.
Implying I play shape that bad as the reason I can shoot these shots is totally ludicruis. I just happen to be able to play pool well and have dedicated much of my life doing it. As soon as you can do more than two of the shots, let me know.
Maybe you should have entitled your thread as such:
Can you do these kamui shots? and if you can or think they are easy, don't post in my thread because I think they are totally amazing and can't do any of them, and am jealous of anyone who can do them.
You have a curious notion that this forum is only for people with the same skill level as you. Well, lo and behold there are people who play better than you who have every bit as much right to post here too, and if the lower players want to stay there, keep driving us off. I had no attitude towards you until you started, so don't insinuate I was in any was insulting or arrogant initially. You are wrong.
just out of curiosity if these shots are routine what exactly gets classified as an impressive shot?
I think impressive shots are the ones that require a stroke AND precision. Anyone can draw the ball with a little practice so plain draw shots don't impress me at all.
For example, Cory's 5 ball draw in the US Open a couple years ago was a real nice example of a shot I liked. (can't find the link)
Many of Efren's one pocket shots where he kicks/banks/shoots a ball and goes multiple rails, between balls to fall perfectly on another ball, are impressive.
Raw power is just that....meanwhile, skill is hard to attain and thus impressive at its highest level...
you calling me a hater's funny. you should quit d*ck riding before you accuse someone of hating
I just blogged about that shot a few days ago... the video is here: http://johnny101.com/post/2010/08/21/Amazing-Draw-Shot-(Corey-Deuel).aspx
That shot's not any harder (or easier) than most of the Kamui shots. Same level of precision. Besides, he's shooting on a big pocket U.S. Open table with brand new cloth. Fast cloth and a draw stroke is an easy recipe for a stroke shot. For example, Cory's 4 ball draw in the US Open a couple years ago was a real nice example of a shot I liked. (can't find the link)

Doing it on demand in a tourney is what makes Corey's shot awesome. IMO, If you can do the Kamui shots, you can do Corey's shot.

I think you are right. Especially on new cloth, that ball will snap back straight down as shown.
The main reason I like that shot is because he hit it real crisp in the finals of a major tourney while en route to beating Mika 11-0. The shot isn't super hard, but the circumstances are.
