I live in the same small town he does, just down the road from his shop actually. So I see alot of his cues. They all play about the same( different tips, ferrules) only being the difference. They for sure are a players cue. With good feedback, a solid tone, and a balanced hit you can't go wrong. I know no matter what kind of cue you pick up from Pete, whether it be a planin Jane, a 4 point beauty, or a conversion( rare) you won't be disappointed.

I have had one of Petes cues in my arsenal since the mid-80's. He never ceases to amaze me as far as customer service and attention to detail. Lately, he has become sought after by European and asian collectors/players. I helped him develope his break cue, the GREY GHOST which was fun. Cant go wrong with an OMEN!!!
I own 6 Omen cues. Pete has made a superb product and been a pleasure to work with at every turn. If you are looking for an excellent player, his work offers great value. His jump break is the best I've seen.
i tried a jump break cue of his once and i liked it well enough. the taper felt more like a playing cue but it still broke the balls well.

I know there was some bitterness expressed in that thread...but that cue was gorgeous. I saw it at Mark's shop and was very impressed. I would expect that when a customer describes a design to a dealer who describes a design to the cuemaker, things can get lost in translation.
I'd like to know if an order form was filled out by the buyer or if it was all based on a conversation.
Of all those I have bought cues from, Pete has shown the most attention to my every design detail. He gets it right.
I asked for propellors on an Omen cue and got exactly what I expected. Top cue and case templates are Petes
Thanks everyone for the comments. I sincierly believe that we all are humans and we all make mistakes at some points in our lives, but the good thing is to take lessons from our mistakes and not to repeat them.
I also very strongly believe that it would reflect in your work what kind of person you are. For what i have seen Pete's work is one of the best out there.I think without being a good person he cannot turn out the kind cues he has been doing. There have been several threads about several cuemakers about a mistake made by them at some point of time.
It is human nature to make mistakes, but the good thing is that we dont repeat our mistake.
I think his work speaks a lot about his character.
Some more feedback on the playbilty of his cues will take this thread in a positive direction.

I can understand not wanting to order from anyone after reading that. I personally believe it was a sh!tty thing to do on JVB's part to even post that but we have to agree to disagree.
If the customer refused the cue, knowing Pete 25+ yrs and have ordered 15-20 cues from him...he would have done anything/everything in his power to make it right. Remember, there are three sides to the truth, you read 1/3 of if.
sh!tty on his part to post what actually happened? you should never feel bad for telling the truth. i bet a similar mistake doesn't happen again anytime soon
people always talk about making things right. the best way to make it right is to do it right the first time.
that cue wasn't what was described. it's that simple. at one point during the build he must have noticed that the cue he was building wasn't what was described when it was ordered.

Let me try to simplify my opinion;
Its still 1/3 of the story, true or not. How do you know its 100% true. Bashing someones customer service or work ethic...knowning they are not around or do not participate to have there time to share their side is exactly what I meant by sh!tty. Unless this was your cue or you were there to accurately depict the accounts? If so, I'm 100% wrong and can admit it.

if Pete doesn't want to get on az and explain his side that's his business. it's not sh!tty for someone to tell their point of view because someone else doesn't want to get on az and tell theirs.

I am Petes friend but the point is still overshadowed by that, when the other 2/3's of the truth is told...then and ONLY then can anoyone pass a true judgement. I wanna be friends with you too poolplayer..Im just vocal when it comes to certain things.

I ordered a cue from Pete and he nailed my design and specifications as perfectly. The delivery was before his stated date and the communication during the process was incredible. Here are a couple of pictures of the cue Pete made for me.

His cue's play real good. I had him make one several years ago and it was a solid player and the craftsmanship was really good also. Pete is good to work with and answered any and everything I asked. When the cue was finished he asked what tip's I wanted and said he had a new one that was only available to cuemakers at the time. It was the Kamui's and when the cue arrived I could have sold a boat load of those tip's because no one else had even heard of them. Here is a picture of a friend of mine's cue, it's an older one.

im very sure that NOBODY would talk about the quaility of Pete s craftmanship. Everyone who knows a bit about cues knows, that he is a great cuemaker and builds an absolutley superb cue!
This *thread* was just about one issue with a customer (where i m absolutley on the customers side!!).
But if it s about Ohman Review depending on workmanship you ll probably find noone who would say something negative about his cues-he s a really good cuemaker.
