Pattern Racking

Lets see Busty, Alex, Mika, Superman, Orcullo, Schmidt, Stevie, Corteza, Yang, Manola, Nevel and the three you said plus at least ten more european and pinoy top guns.--Leonard

I was talking about americans only. But thank you very much sir for stating the obvious about the foreigners, I never had a clue that I can't beat guys like Yang and Corteza. Good thing I know now!

APA7, not the post i was refering to. He said what kind of odds can he get playing the 10 ball ghost, and i simply asked what kind he wanted. Also, didn't understand why he responded the way he did and what the numbers meant he added to my question. I guess it was some inside joke i didn't get since Chris thought it was funny. I know it would be tuff action since he hasn't booked but a few loosers in 10yrs as i've heard him claim. I do know he should have beat Shane when you make the wing ball 84 times. Billy Kuykendall.

Any ghost game that I play I will be racking my own. I did make the wing ball 82 out of 83 times that match. Ironically though, svb actually out broke me that match.

What would you like to offer me on the 10ball ghost game?

Random Rack

I'll talk to Gerry and see if we can implement the random rack on the seminole tour....

Donnie, someone said you know how to rack the balls?

Hey Ray, The 1,2,3 and 10 all have fixed spots, that doesnt give a whole lot of room for random spots for the next 6 balls.

if the seminole tour is gonna get tweaked then lets make it a longer race, not worry about the break and rack

I'm sorry Donny I never saw that you just meant American's, but there is two or three old timers that I would love to see play you with a neutral racker. I think you and Earl, Buddy or Mike S would be fun to sweat and a good match so I guess that puts you and your game in the upper atmosphere with time to get even better. Best of luck at the Open this year, I'll be there pulling for you again.--Leonard

lmao

Just use the majic rack. Johnnyt

Pattern racking is a lame term ,created by some wannabe pool player without the capability of winning consistently.. Therefore they say,
" it cant be my game, this opponet is cheating me on the rack, or he/she is getting all the rolls",, those are no more than petty excuses..

If you fall under this category ,stop lying on your game,, and tighten your stroke up ,the fault isnt within the rack, as much as its within your mind..

Ill tell you, like i told her ,,Wipe your face off ..

Then why wont most of them gamble with a neutral racker. Ans. Because they twist the rack around tell they make a ball and every ball goes the same place on the table every time.If you switch it up thet dont get out near as often.Whatch the guys that are good at it and see how many times a set balls 1 thru 9 end up in the same pocket. Hunter Lombardo take 5 freakin minutes to rack the balls twisting and movin crap around. It takes longer to rack then to run out.Now everyone says they want to help the game.Do you think anybody wants to watch somebody play with the rack more than shoot?

I get it.

OK. I get it. I have read through this thread again. The bulk of the players believe that "rack manipulation" is part of pool. This does not surprise me. What does surprise me is that tournament directors go along with it to the detriment of their event. Tournaments are rife with it. I have watched matches at the US Open come to a blinding halt for 10 and 15 minutes over racking the balls. Does anyone really believe that all this crap is any good for pool. I won't have any of it in my events or when I play.

Good for you, neither will I. I have gotten into the practice of(and it hasnt made me popular but I dont care) if a guy takes 5 minutes to rake. Twists and finger f**ks the balls all around when he calks his break cue ill get up and say wait a minute walk over look at the rack and move the balls on him and say it rolled of or somethin. screw that it dont take a min to rack the balls

Lol ill tell em sir. I'm in a really generous mood today. Bring him over and ill give him the 9 playing 10ball. No talking through out the whole match. I played the race to 100 and never said 1 word.

You got action come to Ft pierce, neutral racker.Play with 9 one set he wins even when he wins you got the nine .

so you are saying that if you just throw them up there and give yourself a bad rack, thats what pool is all about? Im curious as to what your winning percentage is .....lol

You claimed that pattern racking was only a 1 or 2% advantage. I think we both know that playing the ghost it means much more. When you stated you will only play the ghost with you racking is telling enough. I will rack and lay you 3,000 to 2,500 playing the 10 ball ghost on your home table! We can post 500.00 no show money to anyone we agree on. You might outrun it, but i have 3,000 that says you can't!

I have a problem with people touching the balls after removing the rack.

That should be outlawed.

I wish I played the 8 under Donny Mills. I would then be OK with quitting pool!

2 Things...

First, I hope you understand that pattern racking, and taking a long time with the rack are two totally independent things that have nothing to do with each other. If you were playing against the best players in the world, would you really sleep the rack and slug yourself if you really could control how the balls touch? I know for me, I'm going to make sure that all the balls are touching and I have a good rack before i rear back and break.

Second, The Seminole Pro Tour is rack your own, and "rife" with players who know and practice proper racking... i.e. myself, Donny Mills, James Roberts, Corey Deuel etc... This tour has been running successfully for quite a long time and we very rarely have any issues with people stalling on the rack. I think you'd agree the tour wouldn't be as successful or popular if there was constant bickering about the rack...

What it comes down to is the people who've taken the time to learn how to rack and assemble the balls properly before the break, do not want to suffer or deal with someone else who isn't as adept to racking or doesn't care enough to ensure the opponent has a good rack. If you want to throw the balls up there and let what happens happen that's your business. Bur for people who demand more and aren't negligent of the importance of the rack, it's unacceptable...

I believe it is similar to legalization of drugs...the people who tolerate it do so coz then they can also do what they want. That is why there is no bickering...well, that and the TD has likely said there can be no bickering about the rack...so become a mechanic or don't.

The argument for rack your own: that the incentive to rack well

fuggit. I don't really care anymore.

i agree

I believe that when both players are left to rack their own, they know they'll be giving themselves a good rack and under those understandings there are no issues really. Both players rack in the same conditions and should be able to produce a tight rack. Really that's what it boils down to. All we want is a tight rack...

By the way your avatar is the nuts!!!
