We got started a little late about 7:10. They traded games thru the first 25 or so games with Shane edging out a few games ahead over that time. Shane's break didn't seem to be working.. scratching a lot.

Around 16-10 Shane, he started to pull away. We had one freeze on the stream because some others jokers were trying to stream from there, but once they tracked that down, everything was fine the rest of the night.

Mika started missing balls and lucky for him a break came up at 10:00. He came back from the break but still missed some and got some bad rolls. His break wasn't working very good either.

All the sudden Shane started missing some ball, 4 games in a row he missed makeable balls and Mika won all 4 of them. Mika seemed like he was trying to get himself pumped up to get a second wind, but Shane put out that fire by continuing his steady play.

Shane was ahead by 10 most of the night or a few less, but at the end of the night, it was 10 again. I think it got as close at 5 or 6 a point or two.

Play stopped at 2:20 am , so about 6 and 1/2 hours of playing and 60 games were played.

Check out my stats at www.oldpoolhall.com/tarupdates

They're not exact, due to a brief Internet outage where I missed several games, but I did the best I could.

Play starts at 6:30 pm tomorrow eastern, so come on back!

If you haven't already got all 3 days, go to www.theactionreport.com and get the final 2 days. The link will be up tomorrow, so if you don't see it check back.

I'm only going to get 3 and 1/2 hours sleep, so G'nite!

:boring2::boring2::boring2:

Thanks again for all your hard work Cali. Sorry for the hiccup in the stream. Everyone appreciates all the work you put in. First day went kind of like I thought it might. Tomorrow will tell the tale I think.

Thanks for the stats my friend.. I too, stayed up way too late watching the stream, and am now running on fumes.. Hoping I can make it two more nights with little sleep then working the next day... It's worth it though.

Thanks to everyone that brought us this fantastic match! Even if I don't watch another game, I feel my $25 spent was well worth it.

not the way i thought it would go.
not that svb being up 10 is some upset.
i know how hard it can be to get up and
play your best but damn.
2 players my speed would be right with svb and
ahead of mika.
still a lot of pool left to see the pool i thought we would.

yeah it started out a little rocky, svb knocked the cue of the table a few times. Neither player was at top speed that's for sure. I went to sleep when shane hit 20 games. Hopefully tonight they will be in top form.

I know you get this 1000x a week, but thanks for putting these matches on bubba!!

Wow - Nice stats CaliRed! It's interesting reading the rack play-by-plays too, since I wasn't there to watch it.

Already can't wait for the DVDs!

as you can tell, I did hardly any rack by rack replays, as I got no response that anyone cared to see it, after asking for feedback in the forums a few days ago, so now you got me feeling bad that someone would have read them:)

Interesting...10 more breaks...30 more balls on the break...but only 3 more break and runs.

Ha! Sorry, this is my first exposure to your stats tracking. I browsed over the scott/shane stats list after I finished with the shane/mika page. I think they're great for people who didn't/haven't seen it. It's a lot of extra work, I know, but at least for me, they're great. Of course, if I had the DVD's or was watching the stream, I probably wouldn't pay much attention to it, so... whatever that means. :embarrassed2:

Although, I could use them as a quick search guide to find "that one rack where..." even if I had the dvds. I think it's useful, but I can see how people would overlook it.

Cali, I like your brief play by plays, if a player scratches or three fouls, it can show a trend of how a player is doing and who has the momentum.

You could even be more concise with some of them if you wanted.

They also allows the viewers to look back at your summaries and determine where they thought the day changing games took place.

Rep to you sir!

What equipment are they playing on?

I want to put the B & R percentages in perspective to the difficulty of the table.

TIA.

They chose a GC III, freshly recovered. The announcers stated that Amsterdam's GC IV's rails were a bit too bouncy (or did they say "boingy"?) for their liking. Corner pockets were a fairly generous 4.5".

I wanted to acknowledge that I made a error or two... Looking it over at 1:30 in the morning apparently does not lead to accurate checks:)

I had mistakenly put that there were 3 10 balls on the break for Shane, when in fact I had put the 3 in the wrong column (should have been a 3 in the balls he made on that break)

same issue with a Mika 10 ball on the break (should have been under balls made on the break)

I corrected those and refreshed my website.

They had some 10's made on the break, but they spotted up.

On the makeable missed balls, Shane was doing pretty good until towards the end of the night, where he missed one in about 4 games in a row or so. Mika's came for the most part in a 5 or 6 game period on 2 occasions.

On one rack, believe it or not, Mika missed a cut shot on the 10 which was about on the spot and cueball a couple of feet away, then Shane missed a long cut on it, then Mika missed a very easy shot on it. 3 misses by 2 pros on a ten ball in one game.

Break and Runs were few and far between. Never more then 1 in a row. So not "Packages" were put together at all. The players were just not getting shots after the break on the object ball, or scratching on the break, or not making a ball.

Shane made more balls on his breaks then Mika. Shane would get 1 or 2 most of the time, but sometimes 3 and even a 4 one game. Mika's were almost all 1's or none's, although he got a couple of 2's and 1, 3 on the break. Shane's break was not squatting at all. He could just not control his cueball. It would go off the table, follow forward, go over to the side pocket.... his 10 ball was just not working last night. He was consistantly making balls, but either giving up ball in hand, or not getting a shot to make a break and run.

Mika's break seemed to have good spreading of the balls, but nothing would fall. He had more of a flat break, where he would just hit them solid and his cueball would not go wild, but the balls just weren't fallling.

Shane looked pretty steady all night, like nothing was going to bother him, whereas Mika was pretty upset he just couldn't get anything going. When it was all going bad for him in a few chunks of 5 or so games, he would make a few misses, get out of line on easy shape shots, get some bad rolls, Shane was locking him up all the time, seemed everytime he finally got to the table, he was full hooked. That's got to wear on a guy.
