Accu-Stats US Open PPV

Umm technically right now it would be stealing cause there are two ways to access the content. In other words both people could log in and one person could view the silverlight version and one person could view the windows media player version from anywhere. Under normal circumstances its only viewable in one format but with two formats available Oldzilla I think people can share what they want.

Yes!

Tons of thanks to a very generous gentleman who just shared his login with me. I believe quality pool like the US Open should be broadcasted to anyone who love the sport to help expand and elevate its image.

anyways I can't thank you enough, of course I cannot mention your name here, but I cannot wait for the upcoming matches!

This person is probably studying Politics.

That is probably the same mentality many thieves share. Apparently, we all earn our reputations, good or bad.

Accu-Stats PPV and "Sharing"

To all the AZ'ers who posted here - thank you for your support, defense, and kind words.

To Dakaratestar - your handle, avatar, and writings have been burned into my memory.

When people do things to potentially hurt Accu-Stats, I take it VERY personally and I have a long memory.

Some streamers understandably ask for donations. As of now, we do not.
We feel that your purchasing of our products are "donation" enough.

It is tremendously expensive, monetarily, psychologically and motivationally for great billiard streams to be brought to you. It is NOT as easy as people like TAR, Bigtruck, AZ Billiards, Lenny, MI_Billiards, and BigDog (and even us) make it seem. Things that hurt even one of us - hurt ALL of us - including you the viewer.

But this thread does pose a need to explain a little about how the PPV system really works.

1. When a customer purchases a Pay-Per-View event he is buying the right to watch that event for a certain amount of time.

2. The PPV system is set up to allow only ONE viewer to be logged onto that stream at one time. So if I give you my username and password and you log in as me, I get kicked off. It's just that simple. Even those that feel the need to be sneaky and pass around the URL of the stream (as I saw done last week with the TAR stream), the result would be the same. One user accesses the stream, the other gets kicked off.

3. Could I employ stronger security measures, sure, but as of now the customers that I've met, especially the AZ'ers, have all been honest and aboveboard. But WOULD I change the system if I found abuse, yes, in a heartbeat.

4. Am I nieve enough to believe that customers do not ever "share" their usernames and passwords? NO, because I would do it myself (maybe).
What if I paid for the whole week and had to go out, go to dinner, work, show this "great stream" to a friend, whatever. Would I give my username and password to my son, to a friend? Why not, I paid for it! Legal? Sure - I paid for it. Ethical? Sure - I paid for it.

So in conclusion, what is the harm in sharing?

As long as the "sharer" understands that it could just might happen that if he gives the keys away - somebody might just change the locks on him.

Thanks again to all of you for your support and loyalty and the nice words said in this thread. It is comforting to know that all of you are "Watching the Skies".

Long windedly submitted,
Jim

Hello everyone, I am here to ask if anyone is generous enough to share their PPV login with me so I can watch the matches. I am a poor college student and I love pool and I wish i could be there to watch and learn and be inspired but i can't, and I cannot afford to purchase the Accu-stats PPV, because my college just took 1300 dollars from me for books. If anyone is willing to help an aspiring pool player/college student, please pm me, i will greatly appreciate it, and trust me if i do have money later i will remember u and return to u. thanks.
I thought I've seen it all. Guess not. A lot of nerve, but not an ounce of brain. Climb back in your hole.

Thanks for this post Jim and all that you do to bring these live events to us.

I for one know how hard you work behind the scenes and I'm sure I don't know the all of it.

Here's the login and password for you:

Login Id: growup

Password: andgetajob

Although his actions were not very cool, I gotta say he should never be banned for asking a question. No one had to give him a password and ID and I seriously doubt he was watching anything. He was trying to steal but he cant do that alone be serious. Maybe he is as broke as he said.

I kind of wish he would have just put up a jump cue or something to trade for the show like I suggested to him. Even sell something on a conditional loan where he buys it back plus shipping in a month, many of us would have taken the item to help him out.

We don't have enough players out therem do not push people out of our very small community thats the easy route. Next time try to show them a better path, thats what taking the high road is all about. We did not take the high road as a community today and instead the mob mentality prevailed...regardless of him being out of line two wrongs dont make a right and the mature bunch recognizes and knows that.

Name a lame thing to ask for on az billiards. You said, login/password for ppv. Survey says...login/password info to steal/watch ppv!!!

Number one answer!

P.S. No one believes you actually got someone's login. You just said that to try to piss everyone off and you failed once again. Par for the course of your life.

I agree Mikey.

If he had come here and said, " I am a down on my cash college student and was wondering if anyone might hook a brother up with a session or 2 of the PPV?" I bet several would have jumped in and helped.

He also may have just wanted to make a point. Either way, I'm sure there was more to the ban than meets the eye. Mike and Jerry are 2 of the fairest guys you will ever encounter, imo.
