Can anyone tell me what the difference is between Chalk Off and Quick Clean? or is there any?

and can anyone tell me if there is a website/store that i can order Chalk Off, Aramith Ball Cleaner, and a micro-fiber towel at the same time? i dont mean the little Aramith towel, its too small. i want the bigger towel.

I used Chalk Off and the only thing I can say is the stuff leaves stains. It does not always come out in a nice spray and when you get a "chunk" of the stuff, it will leave a mark. I have gone to a wet towel to remove chalk and it works fine.

Do an AZ search.. There were many threads about this several years back.. From what I remember, Quick Clean was first and created by David Hodge, if I remember quickly..

Chalk off came along, but there were some issues between the 2 manufacturers?? Hell, I can't say exact.. It was said that the Quick Clean guy got screwed somehow??

I have only used Quick Clean and it works great, just too expensive. I have not used it for a few years now but it was a good product IMHO..

Simonis X-1 Pool Table Cloth Cleaner

I have used both and agree with all that was said in the previous post. I just purchased Simonis X-1 Pool Table Cloth Cleaner 3 weeks ago and I am very happy with it.

Hey Chi.... I am too using the Simonis Pool table cleaner, it works wonderfully and will never wear out if as advertised..

Don't put any liquid on your cloth except maybe the dampness of a clean, damp cloth. Vacuum your table. Chalk is ground-up sand. You have to pull that sand out of the fibers.

I received the x-1 as a gift and have found that it works as well. I used Quickclean for a couple of years and I am glad to have found a chemical free replacement. That stuff was noxious!

Quick Clean was the original, created by David Hodges... Chalk-Off was a knock off attempt at the product using a similar formula that does not work as well, and as from what I have been told, is a carcinogen which can be very bad for anyone using the product...

I have seen a version of the packaging for Chalk-Off, and it was a knock-off of the packaging design for QuickClean. This I know because I was hired to design the packaging design for Quick-Clean. It may be different now, as I believe there have been some lawsuits filed (not completely sure about the lawsuits, as I am not directly involved on either side)

I will try to reach out to David Hodges and see if he can answer some questions here for you...

Hey a chalk-off sounds like a great idea. Maybe one of the chalk makers can organize one. I would love to be able to compare different grits before buying.

Thanks for the advice Bob. I just bought a can of Quick Clean but dont use it that much. i think its a good thing to have to go over your table with every so often. i use a damp towel also at times.

I can't buy into spraying anything on the bed cloth. Nothing more than a little suction is needed to get the chalk out of the carpet and I just can't help but think that anything will leave at least some residue that over time will just attract more dirt, chalk, and dust.

True, but i thought that Micro-Fiber brush is supposed to lift the stuff out. i think this is a good thing to get stuff off the top, but the chalk dust that gets down into the cloth is probably a different story.

Try Woolite

I've used both Quick Clean and "Woolite 835 Foaming Fabric & Upholstery Cleaner". I can't tell the difference, but Woolite is cheap!

Medium powered Shop Vac with the elongated brush attachment.

Vacuum table thouroughly.

Clean, SLIGHTLY damp hand towel.

Wipe down bed and rails.

Dry, clean hand towel.

Wipe down bed and rail.

This will keep your table nice and clean!!
