How many out there would order a new cue if Tim makes a comeback?

We all know what great cues they were and what a genius Tim was,he took a hit when our friend Mike passed away but Tim still has what it takes,we all wish we had kept at least one of his fine cues and now may be the chance to get a great and collectible cue

I am not talking about some phony foreign built cue with Tims name,I am talking about brand new Baltimore,Maryland cues made and delivered from Tim's hand to yours

If a few of us commit to buy and get Tim a couple of years work I think I can get him back in action,

Same high quality work, same great hit.It doesn't get any better .than this.

I commit to buy 5 Hoppe style with Ivory Joints and a box cue to start.

I am sure if we do our part we can get the old maestro back for one more great run

If he wants to retire, then why pressure him? If he needs to be convinced, it sounds to me like it's not his ideal choice for how he would like to be spending his retirement. Do you want him in the shop dealing with all the toxic materials we use? He is not young and I'm sure his immune system is not what it once was. Do you want him dying earlier just so you can make a few bucks off his name?

This isn't directed at you, but anybody who wants to jump on the bandwagon just because they know that if he comes back, he is still close to the end of his career. I'd think a good majority of the buyers will be people just looking to cash in.

If he wants to retire, then why not let him do it on his terms. If he wants to continue making cues, I'm sure he can make that decision without outside pressure. I'm also sure that he knows that if he were to start up again, he will sell everything he makes, so I doubt a few years worth of orders should make a difference.

He has busted his ass for years. I wish him a happy retirement. If the bug to build bites him again, I'm sure he can command what ever price he wants for his work and have no problems selling it.

I wish Tim only the best in whatever does. He and Mike were always there for me for 30+ years and i appreciate all they did for me and wish Tim a healthy and happy retirement and a happy Holiday season. I miss tim, Mike and John especilly the Saturday morning social gathering and going to breakfast. Not to mention the huge crabcake sandwiches that Tim would have at the shop before Christmas. Sorry, i am starting to tear up. Enjoy a peaceful retirement Tim.

I forgot to mention that Tim is interested in coming back
Some family members are wanting to join him

I am just trying to give Tim a little encouragement that might
make his decision a liile easier because I know how much
he has been missed and how much I want a cue or two

If it's meant to be it will be. Tim is a wonderful man and is truly missed but i hope whatever he decides is good for him without any outside pressure.

Good point Tony, no doubt if he will come back he will have more orders. but there are factors to be considered. Bottomline is, HEALTH is the main issue and it should be in priority. But still the decision is to him.

I think you nailed it.

Good thoughts, Tony. Whatever Tim decides to do, I only hope he's happy with the way he spends his time.

Good news Dean. I bought several cues from Tim when he was in his first couple years of business. I have always loved his build quality. I'd love to be a dealer of his cues and would discuss this and commit to a 4 cue package from go. I'm thinking Tim would need to have a highly skilled helper to get back into it even on a part time basis. He is an award winning top tier cuemaker.

In response to your PM Dean:

I still stand behind my initial post, but the last two were out of of line, which is the reason for this edit.

If Tim really wants to come back and isn't being pressured into it, it would be great. I was under the impression by your initial post that he needed some convincing.

In response to your question Dean:

If Tim wants to keep making cues, then I'm all for it. What I find disgusting is the hangers-on trying to make a few bucks off his name, knowing that if he chooses to come back, he is very near to the end of his career.

He will 100% sell every cue he makes. He doesn't need people trying to work an angle by buying several cues, expecting a discount and hoping to make a score.

If you really care about Tim and his well being, then let him sell his cues and make all of the profit instead of trying to work an angle.

As for who this my comment was directed at, if the shoe fits...

Are you posting his PM?

I honestly wish he would, but believe he wont. Hes been through alot and wish him the best! Its his choice and there so be no pressure on tim to do so.

Happy Holidays to all

P.S. God id be one of the 1st in line with cash money to get the cue mike was making me

Hi Bob,

Your comment about sandwiches reminded me of my only experience going to Tim's shop. The one time I went to Tim's shop back in....well, I think it was 2001, I went with a gentleman named George (don't remember his last name). We stopped by this place to buy crabcake sandwiches that Tim, Mike, and everyone loved. We sat around that morning eating....hanging out...then we played some one pocket for a while. I told Tim what kind of cue I would like, and he had something they had just finished. It was a fun experience!

I've owned that Scruggs, and was fortunate enough to own an Ivory Box Scruggs cue (Ebony and Ivory). I wish Tim happiness in retirement, or cue-building. Whatever he decides.

I have 2 Cochran cues and 1 Scruggs cue. I told Mike last December when I got my last Cochran cue that I needed another Scruggs to make it even. So guess this might be my chance. I would love a classic hoppe cue!!

All this talks got me excited,

ILL COMMITT TO 3 CUES! One nice cue as mike was building, one monster 6point, & a birdseye player!
