Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Brad who quit on you ?

Everyone!

LOL - I couldn't resist.

I made my quota in cheeseballs and poppers! I wish I could sweat some pool like Jason did -- maybe if his wife talks to my wife...:o

we'd probably both have to watch the stream....:sorry:

I got the next one on my calendar this time. AND a day off work already arranged. The stars are lining up.

What would you do?

A few other things were said during this but irrelevant. A few people there said he quit on me so he owes me!!! But I'm not that type of person tho.

I think it's a good thing I will be back this week so there won't be any more ruckus'. I leave town and the place goes to heck in a handbasket.

:help::yeah::bash::wave::hug::love::slap::ok:

PS - know you can only put 10 icons in a message?

Tell me what you think of this scenario
He is stripes and is jacked up over the 1 ball by the 8.

He pockets the 15 but his cue rolls the 1 ball in the path of the 8 to the side. Before this, he looked at the 8 to see if it went by the 1 in the side and my guess is that it did. By how much, I don't know as I didn't go look.

When he asked me to move it back, my thought is that I didn't know exactly how far it was from the 8 and where to move it back to.
So I said to him, I don't know where it was at. He immediately broke down his cue and said that he didn't wanna play with someone like me. I followed with, "WTF!!! All I said was I didn't know EXACTLY where it was and the only thing I knew is that the 8 passed the solid." I told him he could put it back where he thought it was(within reason!). He declined and said no hard feelings and left. A few other things were said during this but irrelevant. A few people there said he quit on me so he owes me!!! But I'm not that type of person tho.

Let it go, it ain't worth it. Whomever did it is clearly a Des Moines resident and clearly don't know the rules of gambling. Just know your old school about it and that's the way to be. Almost a full Jedi.

Brad, i was told along time ago if you move a ball its tough shit. Whenever it happens to me in a match unless its like a 3-4 inch movement i leave it always. With the old guys me and justin play with, if you bump a ball you lose your shot ! Granted thats 1pkt, but you get my point.

Whoever quit on you, owes imho.

I am assuming booooooze was involved eh? It must be someone we know, chalk it up to lesson learned and next time that someone will need to post if they wants to roll with Bradley.

Another reason to post the money. If it was posted, you could have fought to the death for it. I would be willing to bet, they might let it go. If someone moves a ball, the opponent has the option to either leave it there or replace it. I would have just said "leave it there." If I was shooting, I would just fire in the carom bank. lol

T-Dog just for you I might do a bank ring game. I'm still thinking it over though.

Just for you, I might get a little drunk then during the game. That should slow me up a little. When you thinking?
In january...whenever paul thinks its a good idea to do...i think it would be fun since is something people don't play a lot

January has the year end tourney and Lincoln. Let me know as soon as you get a date set. Maybe we could do it the friday before the year end tourney or later saturday night.

I spoke with Randy before I headed out of town. There were a lot of complaints but nothing that couldn't be corrected. He seemed perceptive to having the tournament again. IMO, here are the three things that need to be addressed to have a really good tournament. One, have a physical board in which the players can see the draw, etc. The can still use the computer just transfer the info over to the board. Two, schedule the match times. That way everyone knows when they are playing. Three, begin the one pocket earlier on Friday and play more matches. Get the one pocket down to two players by Saturday. I told Randy my ideas and he seemed receptive.

This was a nice tournament and I thanked Randy for having it. Everyone was very friendly and Big Dogs is a great environment. I look forward to coming back and playing again.

Darrell, Three very good points. I had a good time watching both live and the stream. But there was a couple of things that I have to question. Why did Paul make sure no one played on the tables next to 22 while the 9 ball finals were going on but then when the one pocket finals were going on there were players playing on the next table. Someone on the chat made the point that they were loud and rude. At first I thought maybe there was some sharking going on. But I saw both Jesse and Gary stop a couple of times and wait for the guys on the other table to shoot and get out of the way. It just seems that with all the other tables in Big Dogs they could have found a better place to gamble. The other thing was not enough 9 ball being streamed I know alot of people like one pocket. But when you have Jesse Bowman and other really good 9 ball players going at it. One pocket is like watching paint dry. I know, as it was pointed out on the chat if you don't like it dont watch. All in all it was a great weekend and i'm looking forward to Feb.

There was no place else to play EVERY big table had action on it. If Whitey or I seemed loud, that was because there was a mic above table 37 in case there were any players that wanted to put on a show for the stream. I'm sure Gary and Jesse had no problem with us playing there.

I think watching nine ball is like watching connect 4. One pocket is the only game I can sit and watch for hours.

Thank God were all different. It would be a pretty boring life if everything was one size fits all. I will say I stayed up till after 2 am. to see who won the finals of the one pocket. It was a great match. As far as you guys playing on the table next to the final match. I was just saying Paul made sure no one played next to the guys in the 9 ball finals. It should have been the same for one pocket. They shouldn't have had to stop and wait for you or Whitey or anyone else to shoot and then get out of the way. I'm not blaming you or Whitey I'm just saying that table shouldn't have been used.

why bother replying........

I am soooo happy Stix cancelled their tournament last night in west des moines. Otherwise we would not have gotten the cash.

Stix needs to either have the tourney or not or they will lose their small following.

So what do you get for the sanction fee other than being able to play in this tournament? The $15 doesn't go in the pot right.
Its a sanction fee to the tour. So look at it as a tour card. Its your right to play in all the tournaments the tour has scheduled which us 6-8 more events
