Earl's new cue

It is on my web site. It is the LDMG.

Can you give a link to your website, btw??

It's interesting to hear about the INTENSITY of Earl regarding getting exactly the cue he wants. You'd think, by this point in his career, he would have long ago figured out his cue needs.

How tall is Earl, btw? I'm curious about how that relates to a 63" cue.

Earl is 5' 10 or 11". This cue I believe has to do with the size of his stroke. Players follow through are longer than others, and his is the longest I know of.

MGLD

Earl is definitely the man, and I think he is fortunate to have someone as dedicated as you, Mike, to support such a great legend of the game.

I have awalys believed Earl has the highest 9 ball gear of all the players I have ever seen-thats everyone from 85 to current, he has a very long stroke and long arms so the length of the cue 63" makes sense to me. I'm happy to see Earl playing good again, I have awalys liked to see him do good.

I have never understood pros taking sponser $$$ to play with shit cues that lower their game 3 balls, sure its locked up $$$, but it comes at a price-not playing to your full potential. Thats short sighted IMO. If I was in a spot where I had to choose a good cue or $25K/yr I'd take a better cue and win more than the $25K in sponser $$$.

measure the length of his arms like they do boxers, from his armpit to the tip of the middle finger, then measure his shoulder width, that will explaine why his stroke is so long, most top players have narrow shoulders and long arms. There are exceptions but i'd guess 3 out of 4 top players have narrow shoulders and long arms.

Rodney, Mike deschane, tony Drago, Shannon Daulton are exceptions. They have wide shoulders or normal length arms.

Earl,Ralf, JA, Busta, SVB, Efren, Alex, Daz, Shawn Putnam, Henneessee, Ronnie o sullivan, Mike Massey all have narrow shoulders and long arms. Mike Massey has big shoulders but the ratio of his arm length to shoulder width still similar to the other guys and Mike is very tall for his height his shoulders are not very wide.

I noticed this trait among top players a few years ago, I was looking for something common demoniator of their physical stature that could explaine why they play better. Its the long arms and narrrow shoulders, thats the only physical trait I can see and its only 75% of the time at the most.

Here are what Earl plays with. He uses a tennis grip wrap, sometimes, and the wrap goes to the butt cap. He also uses an extension to add the weight and size. I prefer the cue without the extension. The shafts are identical.

Specifications

So no specifications on tip, or tip diameter? Who would buy without knowing these 2 variables? or when its time to replace the tip?
not trying to copy it, just make an informed purchase.

The tips are Original Moori soft and they are 12.7 Strickland Professional Taper.

Hi Mike, can't wait for my cue to finish, i'm counting the days, half month passed, 2 months to go I guess, i really can't wait for it to finish

I must admit that I have never in my 40 years of playing pool seen any one play pool as good as Earl is playing right now. He can do things in competition that all the other pros don't even think of doing.

It is very clear that Earl has had a spike in confidence and the cue you built him with such attention to detail is likely no small thing in that success.

But Earl has been doing things no pros even think of doing for decades and has had flashes of that level of play noone can touch for years.

i've ordered an Earl cue from you about 2 wks ago, didn't know that you had 8 cues ready, you said to me will take 3 months to finish my cue, which I think its because of me choosing a different color and different joint diameter, but rest specs is same as Earl Cue on the butt/shaft and all the rest of specs.

in fact ive been waiting for long before that if you remember telling me about you being busy in your own tournament and after that I waited also for the US Open to finish, its all cool . as I said, can't wait for my cue to finish.

Interesting observations, Fatboy--guess that's why "you have the money" :)

I've also noticed that Reyes seems to have long arms versus the otherwise "compact" size of his body.

The KEEPER!

Your last sentence is very generous but I know it comes from what you see and believe.

It's GREAT to see Earl playing well again and we all hope that it continues.

Also wishing you great success with your cue building. It sounds like you have built Earl a "keeper".

Mr Gulyassy,

I visit your page http://www.babysproshop.com/Products_Detail.php?ProductID=873
and noticed that shaft with ivory ferule and standard tip cost 235$.
Same shaft with ivory ferrule and moori or kamui tip cost 170$

It is a glitch with my web site. Ivory ferrules are $75.00 with a pad. I have all the Kamui tips in stock along with Moori tips for $25.00. So SPTX shaft with a Moori or Kamui is $175.00 plus 17.00 shipping totaling $192.00
Ivory ferrule and pad is $75.00 more, totaling $267.00. I am correcting this problem as we speak.
