yea right, but one thing is for sure, only I know the combination.
Its neat to hear what the pro's can and will have done to help there game
Now if it takes someone like Earl that many attempts to get the cue that is just right for him what are the odds its going to be right for any of average Joes?
gulyassy I was wondering are you a sponsor on azb or is this thread just good free advertisement?

While I don't speak for the entire forum, Mike Gullyassy is a sponsor of Earl Strickland and that's good enough for me. Not only that but Mike is one of the pioneers in cue building and I personally love to hear about any new developments of his.
This guy is building cues for Dennis Hatch and Earl Strickland.
$400 for the same cue that Earl uses????????? How sweet is that? http://babysproshop.com/
If Earl lets me, I would love to hit some balls with his cue if I make it to the DCC.
Earl is playing with my cue for about the last 5 years, ever since Cue Tech relieved him. He went to Meucci for a few months for pay but came back to mine. Through the years Earl and I have developed a cue that has revived Earl's game in this 4th decade that Earl won major tournaments in (the last was the Steve Mizerak 10 ball championship in Hollywood Florida, November 7th 2010). There were at least 20 or more variations of this cue. We went from 15 ounces to 23 ounces. We tried 16 mm shafts to 12 mm shafts. We went with rear balance to forward balance. We tried a 24 inch no taper to what we have now. Earl tried every tip made several times at my shop. I would put on the tip and he would go up to my Diamond 4 and 1/2 by 9 with 4 inch pockets to try it out. Every time he would come back down to my shop and say no. We pressed every tip and mostly cut off them off. I would estimate several hundred tips over several years were tried. Now he has the cue that gels with his stroke. I must admit that I have never in my 40 years of playing pool seen any one play pool as good as Earl is playing right now. He can do things in competition that all the other pros don't even think of doing. Just watching him has made my game come up several balls in position play. He is the worlds greatest living player.
So these cues are all the same specs as Earls cue???
From what I have seen/heard/read......Earl likes a crazy long stretch to the taper of his shaft....Has that changed???
The shaft being 18 inches the same size is part of the reason why it plays so well. A cue must have the right amount of flex and stiff for that great hit.
Earl played the best pool in the world in the 80s,what stick did he used, meucci.so like 8up says what is good for earl wont be for others, thats like trying to emulate a pro,you cant do it,you do and use what works best for you, forget what other people do and used.
I don't understand why he didn't get in the Fatboy 10 ball event. Can someone explain?
But he got people shooting shots they absolutely couldn't do with their own cues!
First off Earl's game today could give the Earl of the 80's the 7 ball, no problem, may be the 6.

So basically what you're saying is that ALL these modern players that have been handing Earl his head for the last 10-15 years could have given the 80's Earl the 7 ball (and maybe the 6 ball) too??? I don't think so. Earl has come back but..............one Steve Mizerak title does not qualify as a total comeback IMO. Let's wait and see how the next year (or two) turns out for him.
It's obvious you're a bit biased towards Earl and his accomplishments of late because he is a good friend and customer.
What he's done lately pales in comparison to the Earl of old.
Don't get me wrong, I like Earl, his game and his thoughts on how the game should be played. I have always been a fan of his.
