Tom Ross medical condition

Any more updates on Tom's recovery? Is he getting back into playing pool?
I spent time with Tom this past weekend. He still doesn't have full feeling or control in his right arm, but he has tried to hit balls a few times. Obviously, this can be disappointing to him, given his high level of play in the past.

His speech and reading/writing skills are still fairly limiting; although, he has made improvement in these areas. There is still hope that speech and writing/reading therapy will enable greater improvement, now that his brain has had time to heal from the trauma.

Luckily, Tom's personality, intelligence, and sense of humor don't seem to be any different than in the past. We were able to communicate quite a lot between each other, and we had lots of fun in the process. We were actually talking about trying to put together a CD-ROM of all of Tom's past instructional articles together for people to purchase, and we were able to plan the whole project together.

Overall, Tom's spirits seem good and he seems dedicated to working hard with therapy.

Thanks for asking,
Dave

I just received word that Tom continues to improve although his speech is still sufferering. Tuesday, Tom told my friend that he's been hitting some balls and it sounds like he's even able to control the cue ball ... (he is even able to draw the ball a little).

Now that's getting back into the saddle :). Keep on keeping on with your recovery, Tom. Just know that the AZB well wishers have not stopped either.

Dave

Pass the word on to Tom. "HIT MORE BALLS"! Thanks for keeping us up with his improvements. We are expecting more positive news in the future.

FYI, the CD-ROM 2-volume set is now available. For more info, see the thread announcing the product.

Please help support Tom.

How's Tom's recovery coming along? Is he playing pool again? :)
He is playing again. He still doesn't have full feeling on his right side, so he doesn't have the same touch and speed control he used to have, but he's doing well and he still loves the game.

Maybe some of his Denver buddies can share more. I haven't seen him in a few weeks.

Regards,
Dave
