Here is my short list of cuemakers I have been considering:

1. Pete Ohman "Omen"
2. M. Bender
3. Steve Lomax
4. Ariel Carmelli
5. Lambros.
6. Diveney
7. Darren Hill

This cue is going to be a Player.

I am going to try and day trip to the Valley on the 13th. Hopefully I will get to hit with some of these cuemakers' cues. If there are any left. :(

My wish list is:
Gina, Hercek, Southwest, and Sugartree. :D

How much are you planning on spending. That may be a issue with some of those listed.

You have to try a Blackcreek:wink: Also Dickie Neighbors and Chad McClennan.

I recommend that you do like a lot of us and buy and play with all of the cue builders you list (and more) and see which ones you like best. That strategy helped me narrow my buying to cues that I want to play with and look at and keep.

Sell the ones that don't trip your trigger, without being in a hurry, and you might be lucky and break even. The way I look at it is that I rented the cues for a while; like table time. And, you learned a lot.

Great point of view.

cues

There is nothing wrong with any of the makers you listed. As to your last post regarding diffrent pin materials a lot of builders use G-10 insted of stainless or brass or any other suitable metal mainly for balance reasons. IMHO the material the pin is made from makes no diffrence if the cue is ballanced properly. I totaly agree with scotts piont of veiw in just trying diffrent builders untill you find that one great cue then you could have one built to suit you looks wise. Just some food for thought.

(I wouldn't count bob runde out of that list)

I too am in a trial mode, and I am learning quite a bit about the different hits and balancing. Each has it's own strengths. My top four right now out of many different makers are: Ariel Carmeli, Jeff Olney, Dan Dishaw, & Tim Scruggs. I also have Diveney cues, Jerry Terbrock cues, Gilbert cues, David Rowell cues, CD cues, Arnot cues, Mike Stacey cues, and another favorite of mine Chad Carter and I am forgetting a few others. Along with production cues: Shon, Joss, Predator, Pechauer, McDermott, Falcon, and several others. Still my top 5 so far are Carmeli, Olney, Scruggs, Dishaw, & Chad Carter. I'm looking forward to a Leon Sly, Cory Barnhart, Ohmen, rc3, Lomax, and most of all a Rick Howard.......

Yeah, I am having fun researching.
I got to start keeping better notes. I am already confusing certain cuemakers.:(
I think I just gave some input about the pins a cuemaker uses, that I saw on his website. Now someone asked how to get to this particular cuemakers website. So, I go and try and look it up, but now I am not sure who's website it was?...Who the cuemaker was?... and forget about what the pin was made of...:embarrassed2:
Time to back off and just go play.

Anyway good luck with your choice of new cue.
