Sorry guys...Im here now

Lots has been going on with me…mad a lot of medical issues that I wont go into now, but it looked like for a while I was not going to make it. After the tragedy of losing my 9yr old daughter in 2007 and now this, I took care of my son and he will never have to worry when he gets older…

Luckily, after the operation, recovery I am 100% better. I feel like a new person…funny how being told you only have a few months to a yr to live changes your outlook on life. I have since started living for me and doing things that I have always wanted to do….bought me a new Harley Road King, I am currently about to start to get my private pilot certificate and once I finish that school, I am looking into buying me a Piper Cherokee 140/160..I have always kicked myself in the butt for not doing it in Alaska when I had the chance, so now I am going for it.

I want to apologies to a lot of my friends on here for not staying in contact, but with the illness I had, my memory was nowhere close to what it should have been…so if I owe you money, I was not avoiding you because of neglect, I just could not remember…so please call me and we will discuss that and I will make it right immediately.

A few of you have known about my situation, and have not said anything because I have asked you not to…I truly appreciate you guys and I cant say how much it meant to me that you said nothing about it on here. I just wanted to keep the illness as private as I could.

I truly appreciate AZB, and have had the time of my life on here. I hope that we will have many more years of fun on here!

To those of you who knew of my situation, Cuephoric, Jackson, Mike Gartland and 1 or 2 more on here, I appreciate all your prayers….your prayers were answered!

Hey Buddy!! Good to see you back!

Hey Shawn
Glad to see you back sir. Sorry to hear about your illness. My thoughts & prayers go out to you & your family. Your hit the nail on the head when you said, time to start doing things for yourself. Life is way to short not to have fun and all. Take care
Jeff

Shawn, welcome back!

You were in my prayers and I am delighted for your big turnaround.

Make the most of it.

Remember what happened to Rodney Dangerfield when he was having his health issues and went for a second opinion? That doctor said, "and you're ugly, too." :grin-square:

Best,

I don't personally know you but from what you described, it seems like you'd gone through a lot of forks in life altogether at once. I'm glad things work out OK. Good luck and be well.

Glad to have you back

Well, if you ain't a sight for sore eyes. I've asked Dave at B&D Cues, many a time, I wonder what's going on with ftgokie?
Flying planes and riding motorcycles is cool. I got my Private Pilot license back in '69 and have a few hours time in a Cherokee 140. They're fun. I used to own a Piper Cub, so I'm in reality a taildragger fan.
Glad you're back. :)

Glad to see your back Shawn, just live everyday forward to the best you can my friend, I to am dealing with health issues myself for years now , and I have surpassed the mark this past November the doctors gave me . But for some reason I am still here and hitting balls everyday I can. I know it is because of my friends and family praying for me . You take care of yourself and everything will work out ....<< ED

Also looking at a 1974 Piper Warrior...I may go with the Warrior simply because it has 147hrs SMOH and prop has 10hrs SNEW..Its in tip top shape and a great buy...you can go flying with me anytime my friend..I will also be flying around once I get my license and wouldnt be nothing to fly over to you so we can go shoot some together

Pilot to be

I bought a Harley and also soloed a Champ in 1955 down in Biloxi, got away from flying until 1968. In 1970 got a glider rating and later several other ratings.

If there is any way possible, get a few flights in a glider during your early training. You will enjoy your flying and going to air shows along with pool playing.

Welcome back Shawn....I am truly happy that all is well with you and are living life to the fullest as it is meant to be....my best to you and your family and may you live a long and happy and healthy life watching your son grow into the man you wish him to be.....
