3 Shot, 1 Fatally at CT Pool Hall

ahhhhh the city of my birth. how i miss it so. that's always been a rough part of town.

Wow! I think we've been to Bridgeport at a pool tournament, but I can't remember the name of the pool room.

Horrible news.

I have been through there more then a few times and yes I pay attention it that area. I think it might of even been worse in the late 90's.

I hate when that happens.

Shoot pool not people.

Actually, the title reads, "3 Shot, 1 Fatally at CT Pool Hall". So I'm assuming 3 shot pool; how 1 did so fatally could be for any number of reasons. Exhaustion from a marathon match? That one-in-a-million money shot? (Yes, I know, booooooo! :o )

Seriously though, this is terrible. You could be that innocent person playing an enjoyable game with his wife or girlfriend, and the next moment a bullet flies through the window and hits *you*. Just the kind of publicity we pool players need.

bad part of town, indeed...

Bridgeport, generally speaking, is a rough town.

When I was a young man without an abundance of good common sense, I used to hang out down there in some of the worst places. Beardsley Terrace, Father Panic Village (the after hours Motorcycle Club), and another place on the same street as this shooting, Stratford Ave.

That joint was called Tiffany's Rendesvous, owned by a fellow named Jackson.

We were in there shooting pool one Saturday night and all hell broke loose, gunfire ringing. The front plate glass windows were partially shot out and, the rest of the glass was pushed out by frightened patrons fleeing the bad scene, myself included. :shocked2:

Good that I was mostly playing off the wall back then so there was no reason to return anytime soon. Had to let that place cool off for a few weeks.

Best,
Brian kc
