I wish I had a video to post of Marty N Tommy Wheeler spitting obscenity at each other Boston Billiards back in 99. Two old farts gumming each other to death. It was so awesome I later asked Bob Leblanc about Marty, he just crossed his arms grumbled under his breath and walked away.

You should be flattered. Getting reamed by Marty Herman just means "you've arrived" in the cue selling world. He had to change his e-bay name a couple of times to outrun his negative feedback.
The funniest one I recall is someone painted a red dot on an import cue butt to make it look like a Bludworth but listed it as an "unknown" cue. One of his purported screen names buys the cue and when he figures out it's not a Blud, he rips the seller with negative.
So what does he do? Turns around and sells it the same way on E-bay with the title "Steal this unknown cue" - yet you could read all about it in his reputation comments.
He's a good pool player and he does know a lot about cues - but he seems to have anger management issues and a complete disrespect for human beings in general.

I'm going to tell you what! I've never met Marty Herman on a personal LEVEL , but I have been around him at different Pro Tournaments during my life, and let me tell you, he is NOT the person betrayed here!, he has always been kind, generous and giving of his pool knowledge! so Shame on You!....
He know's more about pool than you'll ever know!......until you ..

David, he tells people he's going to hunt them down and put a bullet in their head, cut them and/or lord knows what else! He harasses people without reason and threatens them with physical harm. Shame on you for defending him.
Well I have sold him two cues and had flawless transactions. I also bought a cue from him and had an equally flawless transaction. No one got screwed.
I know he is a hothead who is opinionated to the max on streams but as far as buying and selling cues goes then I can only report that our three deals were no problem.
I am the kind of person who tries to work with people and allow them to develop their relationship with me instead of pre-judging them based on how others reported their dealings.
To me assuming that someone will be a jerk based on reports from other people and then rubbing that person's face in it as you did pretty much guarantees getting the negative response. A self-fulfilling prophecy if you will.
You should know by now that a person can have a good rep and turn out to be a thief. And conversely a person who has the rep of being a jerk could turn out to be a great guy.
I had this same choice four years ago and had I chosen to not deal with someone based on their "rep" then I would not have made a friends with someone who is a giant among men in my eyes and who has a heart of gold and really thinks of others more than himself. Of course his crusty exterior takes a bit of time to get under but once you do then you have no better friend in life.
Personally, if I were Marty then I would consider myself very lucky not to have to deal with you. And I say this based solely on your actions concerning our business dealing with counterfeit products not on your "rep".
He definitely has issues.
At least I can look around and say well I am not the nuttiest guy in the room.
He might be polite to anyone he wants to sucker into taking lessons from him, he might be polite to anyone who doesn't question any of his claims, he might be polite when he wants to sell you a cue, he might be polite to high level pool players who's ass he wants to kiss so he can turn around and call them a dear friend so that he looks like a "somebody", and he might be polite when he is winning in a pool match. But make no doubt about it.
When you get past all that, you will discover that it is nothing but a facade.
He suffers from classic textbook delusions of grandeur and is completely out of tough with reality. Not to mention, he dishes out terroristic threats on almost a daily basis, to anyone who questions his claims.
He is a skidmark on the pool worlds underwear.

Anyone that threatens to stab you in the throat and put a bullet in you is far from a stable person. He might be great in person, but when he gets on the computer he becomes and an internet tough guy. Let Marty's old ass talk like he does on there to some of these people in real life. Thats why he does it, he knows he's probably not going to ever run into any of them. Its easy to talk sh*t on the internet, backing it up is a different story. I'm sure I just put myself on his hit list.

As usual your jumping in without knowing all the facts. You and I haven't had any "business dealing". What we have is a post where I defended a long standing member with great iTrader and a large post count and wanted to know where he stood after a newer member trashed his reputation without offering any facts. after the facts were known, I did not continue to post in that thread and left it alone. During that time you were sending me emails pretending to be someone else begging me to contact....you! Then over a week later you decided to leave me negative rep for my post when it was clear that it was made before any proof was offered.
So please tell me how that is a business dealing? The only thing close to a business dealing we have had is when I told you I would do business with you based on some comments you had made and the fact that you left me a negative rep without bothering to look when the post was left or if I had continued to post in the thread after the proof was provided.
It's easy to see why you and Marty get along. You both fly off the handle for no reason and then act like it's the other persons fault. You sent me so many harassing emails that I had to email Mr Wilson to ask him to stop you from sending me emails. I then put you on my ignore list and still received several emails from you. When you finally stopped I removed you from my ignore list in case you may have something positive to ad to this forum but obviously I shouldn't have bothered. You and Marty must be related. Lol
Now, as far as Marty is concerned, he has stated he is coming to where I play pool tomorrow night to kill me. Lol. Let's see how that works out for him.

U r so full of it. And u r a liar as well. For one thing you never received one email from me. You received some PMs from me, John Barton, AFTER you initiated the contact with a PM of your own. Any PMs you received from any other registered member were not threatening, not harrassing, they were answering your questions that you publicly asked.
You didn't receive ONE SINGLE harrassing PM from me in any way shape or form. Not one.
You can feel free to republish every single PM you got and then you can let the members here judge them against your accusations.
So, since you are the type of person who seems to like to inflame a situation please forgive me if I feel that you probably went out of your way to push Marty's buttons. Not that Marty is blameless and not that he is right in threatening you. But you clearly have issues of your own not the least of which is a very tenuous connection to telling the truth.
You could have simply declined Marty's business in a hundred polite and diplomatic ways that wouldn't have raised his ire towards you. People do this all the time in all sorts of life situations in order to get by peacefully.
But no, knowing of Marty's reputation, you decided to poke the bear and now you are crying when he bites your head off. I am sorry but whose fault is that?
If it were anyone else then I'd be more sympathetic. But you brought this on yourself by your own inappropriate actions. Marty isn't right to go off on you but you weren't right to deliberately antagonize him either.

Well Beav, perhaps your right, a man should show respect for his fellow brethren no matter if their older or not, on a chat room or in public.
Today I drove to the local tobacco store about seven miles from the house and got some smoke's & a few brews, then drove on down the gravel road about nine more miles to this old blackman's house I knew and stopped for a chat.
The old blackman was mowing his yard but stopped when he saw me driving up because he knew my truck, his wife came outside and they both greeted me with a hug.
The old blackman and I chatted about , fishing, hunting, tornadoe's, flooding, brush fire's, lawnmower's, cemetery's, church's, garden's, tractor's, newspapers, & dog's.........
He had about nine dog's around his house, but the most scary one was the old grandpaw dog , the old blackman said , "don't mind him none son, he ain't got no teeth!" , he just looks & sounds mean! :thumbup:

I get where you're going with this and I understand. I've had plenty of older guys talk sh*t to me in my years of bouncing that I blew off. But age doesn't give ANYONE the right to threaten someone with death, especially when you don't have the balls do it in person. Again, there is no rational excuse of any kind for that kind of degradation by anyone.
I'm sorry John but you have it wrong. When I received the email from Marty this morning I simply stated that I didn't want to sell him the cue because of his reputation. The exact wording was "sorry but I do not want to sell you this cue because your reputation precedes you. Within minutes I received the response I posted in the first post of this thread. In hindsight I should have just ignored him but seeing as how he tried to rob a friend (see cuemaker03's post in this thread) several years ago I wanted to let him know that treating people like that doesn't go un-noticed.
Regardless of how you feel about me, I try to treat people honestly and fairly which is why I stood up initially for tasaddics in the counterfeit thread. As I have told you more than once now, I did not post after it was proven that the case in question was indeed counterfeit thread but yet you still felt it necessary to leave me a neg rep. I'm curious how many people you left a negative for that basically did the same thing I did and stick up for a long standing member before the truth came out. It's kind of funny, I received a positive rep for that same post. I wonder why that was?
If you were an honorable man, you would have considered seining me a pm asking me to retract the post but no, you have to send me a bunch of pm's acting like a little child and leave me a neg rep.
Oh, and you're right, I typed the wrong thing. You did not send me emails, you sent me pm's. My mistake but you did send me about 6-7 in less than an hour. Three of which were continued into each other because you were ranting so long.
And yes, I did send the first pm to you right after I had discovered that you left me the neg rep. I asked you why you felt it necessary to leave me the neg rep.
