Good to hear. My first cue was a viking - let's hope they now have a viable business model in place.
Hes never gunna give up or let down Vikings customers..... lol
That is good news for an old line American company.
Now if they can just get the design of thier cues up to date. In my opinion most of their line was not very good looking.
I also had a Viking back in the late '70s. Paid $30.00 retail for it. It had a nylon(?) red wrap. Good playing cue.

This is good news indeed. In the national scheme of things, not a lot of jobs, but any and all jobs in the USA are appreciated.
Just my opinion, but if anybody asked if I preferred Viking or McDermott for a production cue? I'd respond that as far as hit and playing ability goes, both are equal, both are darned good.

Thanks, Wade. I was just curious about his well-being since I had not heard anything about him in recent times. That's great news! He always treated me and mine with dignity.
That is good news. I was a bit sad when I heard they closed their doors. They had started out a small shop with high standards and grew. At one point in the early 80's I felt the quality had kind of gone down hill but from what I heard Nancy Hart became active in the business and lit a fire under them again and the quality rose back up to the top of the production cue market. They came out with a lot of new innovative designs in the 90's also. How about that sneaky with the points that make a right turn. That's sick! When I first saw one of those, I thought WTF, how the hell did they do that? I hope that they are able to keep their quality high, keep Americans working and not give in to the temptations of cheap foreign labor. We're running out of real American manufacturing companies!
Yup, Mj is ding ok. After Viking cues closed the tour title sponsor changed to Ozone Billiards and then changed to the Maxim Billiards tour. The events have still been very good. He also runs the Olhausen Billiards tour.
I heard Mj rejected several other cue companies offers to pick up the title sponsorship after Viking closed. Janis said he just couldn't bring himself to representing any other cue company after being with Viking for soo long.
I hope he can work out a deal and bring the Viling Tour back again.

It is great news. I just hope they come up with some nice looking designs, perhaps a mixture of classic style and modern artsy cues.
