how many cues do you own?

Hmmm how many seems to be changing

Okay, While I'm fairly new on here I've been playing for a few years. I can't seem to ever sell anything (althoughI don't try too hard either) so here goes in order of purchase:

Pointer (fiberglass covered cue) currently loaned to a friend
McDermott EK-1 currently loaned to a friend
McDemott EJ-3
Meucci 97-27
Meucci original JR-1
Joss 109
Dieckman "Kokopelli in the sky with diamonds"
Custom (from a small maker) wife uses this one
Dominiak 001
Dominiak curly Deluxe

And there's a cuetec I won at a banquet

So that makes 11...

I have two playing cues left....My fancy silver veneered Prewitt ( For Sale ) and a plain jane Arthur cue. With the exception of my Mezz PB II and Mezz Air Shooter
 
I remember when I was collecting cues, I'd only buy fancy cue's from certain makers like Mottey, PFD, Schick, Barry Szamboti, Bill McDaniel, Southwest, Tad, Runde, etc. I started to collect these cues back in early 1990.

Some examples would include box cues, ivory handles, 8 pointed cues, music cues, exotic handles and woods, players cues, etc.

If it was fancy I would buy it. But I ended up selling them all and some went overseas to asian collectors. I still see some of them in other collections and I'm able to say,yes I use to be the original owner of that cue.

One of my more recent cues, is now owned by another and is currently listed on cuezilla as a monster cue. It's the Morning Glory cue made by Paul Drexler. Another fancy cue that can still be seen is located at Cornerstone Cues. It's the last cue Bill McDaniel made; an ivory handle cue.

Sometimes I wished I never should have sold everything. They are all worth a fortune by now.

I have 196 cue not counting the ones I made.60 which are mcdermotts=
I have a complete set of d=series with 7 extras.and many top cue builder cues .

I think if I had more than one player, I would switch back and forth too much and it would take a toll on my game. I just want to have that one cue that I know, and can rely on forever.

I think you have a good point about having one playing cue. It's alright to own more than one cue, but I think you should stick to playing with one cue that you know about how it plays and what you can do with it.

I've been guilty of owning more than one cue and switching back and forth between them in the past and I think it affected my game. I currently own 3 cues, but I only play with one of them 90% of the time and my game has been picking up since I quit switching back and forth so much. I play with a predator 314-2 shaft on my regular player so if I should switch to one of my other cues I have predator shafts for each cue and that lets me concentrate on my fundamentals instead of wondering about different deflection characteristics for each cue.

I Have....

I have acquired 8 cues. All players, but I never have enough time to use them all!! So I stick to my D series Mcdermott with an OB-2 shaft and my full splice Mclennan.

Love cues

I have been collecting since 1995 and have had a high of 15 cues but always streamline it back down to 10-12.Over the years have owned Gus's , Barry's, Gina, Black Boars,Shicks,Mottey, White,Herceks.I made a change several years ago to concentrate on just Herceks and had 12 at one time.I now have 8 with one on order plus a 6 point and one 8 point Black Boar.
