Check out this pool room

I had a mini heart attack seeing that! My god, if I lived near there and could play and gamble there I would be in heaven. Looks classy too!

Now here is a pool room. I don't know anything about this place but just look at the pictures.

i was there last friday. i was in town last week for a family reunion. that place makes me want to move back down there, it is quite a place. met the owner, he and his entire staff was very friendly. btw the rates are pretty cheap, 2.00 an hour. they have an old russian billiard table also. the biggest table i hace ever seen and the smallest pockets also.

i didnt ask what size those pockets were but i bet you couldnt take a ball in your hand and put it in a pocket without touching either side.

i forgot to add they have an interesting contest for anyone on that russian table. for 1.00 you can spot 5 balls on the table, if you make 3 balls you win 25.00.

Looks great. Only one problem I can see. Where are you supposed to sit when not at the table?

i did not walk thru the entire room but they seem to have adequate seating, certainly more seating than any pool hall in memphis.

btw when i was there last friday night the place was pretty full. the majority of the players were younger than i am used to seeing in pool halls . no loud music and every one was respectful and friendly.

btw i was born and raised there, this was my 1st time back in 15 years. that place makes me want to move back lol.

I'm moving to Fort Pierce. Anybody wanna buy a house in Golden, Colorado?
I'll throw in a Diamond table.

i think you would like it there. its an ocean front town, ( atlantic ocean, not the gulf coast ). its 60 miles north of palm beach.

for you baseball fans its the spring training town for the n y mets, and another team iirc.

That's a sweet room. I believe someone posted blueprints to that room and asked some forum members about it.

I noticed that the website said it's a 12' pyramid table. I thought pyramid was played on a 10' table? Either way, that'd be sweet if you could play snooker on it as well.

Thanks for posting this, I am going to do some traveling and I am getting an itinerary together. This looks like a nice addition.

check out cunninghams in vero beach, just 20 minutes north. i didnt get a chance to stop in when i went by. i used to play in there 20 years ago, i was supprised its still there. by the way the parking lot was full both fri and sat nights when i went by.

i was spending my nights next door at my old stopming grounds , the long branch saloon. i was suprised that place was still there and had not changed a bit. i practically lived in that place every weekend 20 years ago.

also grovers in west palm beach 60 miles south of ft. pierce.

Its a spot shot contest all money posted to try is the actual prize fund. every dollar added makes the pot grow. The house posted the first $25.

thats the only problem I see, otherwise its a great room. South Bay Billiards(now closed) was like that in a way. If you were not playing it wasnt a comfortable room, I like arm chairs or player chairs with a tall square table next to them to set things on, I had those in my home I just sole I left them behind, they are easy to build mine were 30'X30"X1" granite slabs witha 4 legged frame, we built them for a resteraaunt we had in a office building, I think they were the standard height, they were comfortable to play chess on using the B-Wick Player chairs the tall ones, so I think they were 40" to 44" tall. this just reminded me I need to get that measurement on those tables, I'm going to cal the guy I sold my house to and get that dimension.

If this pool room had those inbetween the players chairs it would be perfect, I font like the round tables like in Bars you stand up at, mine were the height you can stand and eat at and lean on them if there isnt a chair. the granite keeps them nice and heavy. We built about 7 or 8 of them I'm not sure if we have the rest in storage or if we sold them off.

thats the only thing wrong here, I wish I had a pool room near me good as this in the pic, its a AAA lever room IMO it would be a AAA+ if it had a better seating set up and rail, I also like a players room off to the side with 4 or 5 tables for action and theater chairs about 5 or 6 levels up, Like in the Jointed Cue in Sacramento.

this room is way in the top 1% of rooms, I'm assuming the tables all play good and they have good balls etc.

I'd love to open a room someday, but not just yet.

best

ULTIMATE-BILL...Nice room! I look forward to visiting the next time I come down the east coast of FL! I was just there two weeks ago, and came right past Ft. Pierce, on my way to Ft. Lauderdale. Say, do you know any more information about where the poolroom Mike S. has opened in Colorado is?
