When the David Peat (Dippy Dave) vs Chris Bartram (Smooth Criminal) match was cancelled, Justin Collett posted: "Dippy went above and beyond and squared me away on the money I had put out for hotels and other expenses. More than few people would of chalked it up to bad luck and went on down the line. Dippy didn't do that. He stood up and did what he could to help." ‎Jason Koopman replied with: "Ultra classy move on Dippy's part."

I gotta agree, classy move "Dippy"

Dippy has moved up a notch in my book, fo shizzle.

Chris's side was the one obligated to pay -Dippy was not so i have to agree.

On the surface this appears to be true but we don't know all of the other details. Dippy may have made a score with the other parties and simply "picked up the check" first.

Yes definitely but i can say without doubt 80% wouldnt pick up the check, first, last or ever!

When your asking for that kind of weight which it was obviously too much according to why the match didn't go off, and have the kind of money he has without the skills to go with it he should have picked up the tab. Telling people they need to qualify to play him is quite classy too, didn't realise he was royalty, but I guess money can buy anything.

Dippy Dave is one of the guys that is making the pool world more interesting. Take him and his match's out of the picture and last year was not nearly as entertaining.

You're spot on about Dave Peat's part in pool this past year. Hopefully, he will remain in action.

Totally agree that VIFFER did an honorable thing. I kinda regret that I wasn't the one that posted this thread actually. Actions like this need more attention & respect than they currently get.

That was a class act from Dippy. Very, very few pool players or stake horses would have done that. Johnnyt

I would think that most people/players would do as Dippy did.
But, then again, only one of two did.

Class act, maybe, at the very least this was an honorable move.
Respect goes a long way in my opinion.
