I have a purple-heart jump/break cue that has a purpleheart shaft. I repeatedly have problems with the cue joints loosening up. If I don't check it before every break, it is usually loose. Both the jump/break joint and the regular joint have the problem. I don't suppose there is anything that can be done?

What kind of joint is it? What size pin and threads?

I live in Minot, home of the historic flood of 2011. If you canadians would drink some more water, we might not flood next year lol. We started thinking you guys were pissed at us (or is it pissing on us? jk).

This is the first year we've compemplated bombing the hell out of canada. Here we're looking at Iran as the terror, then the terror from the north hits.

Just kidding, most of us have been staying pretty friendly towards canada, especially the 18-20 year olds that like to go up to branden to drink and watch strippers. I'm 37 and I like to drink and watch strippers, but I can do that down the street, don't need to drive to canada.

I had a similar problem a few years back with a particular cue with a flat face joint design. Can't say of course if it's the same issue with your cue, but anywhos: check and see if there's an insert in the shaft where the pin goes in -- it may have come loose. That was the problem I had, so basically every time I tightened the joint the insert was getting pulled out a hair, loosing the fit. Cue maker was happy to fix for free as a warranty issue.

a bad joint face can also cause the joint to loosen

could be a lot of things, no way to really tell until you take it to a repair guy to have him look at it in person

That's my thoughts too, much like a new tip, the facing of the ferrule and the facing of the tip base are critical otherwise, boing, off it goes on too the floor.
