Well, I finally got me a big boy lathe, lol. Now I just need to get a few more things and ill be ready to rock. I need to convert it to single phase also, so anyone got any ideas? Anybody have a quick change tool post with a few holders for sale? Is there anything else I should consider getting for this old war horse? Also, I gotta say thanks a ton to Trent. I appreciate the help and all the advice. I'm glad you found me a lathe, even if I did have to go damn near to virginia to get it, lol. Thanks man!

Joe

glad you made it home and you only had to go to newlexington ohio lol

that thing sure is cleaner since i gave it to my father he cleaned it up nice.

welp now your in deep, no escaping the adiction now

he has a 4 way rocker post. save your money joe get your rear chuck, live center, dead center, drill chuck, center drills, drill bits this list can go for qyuite a while.

Just answering his post asking for a QTP, I'm sure he can decide on what he wants to buy and when.

Let me know what is the OD of the spindle bore of the SB. I have a sleeve with set screws already made by my machinist and has the threads for a Hightower 3 jaw chuck. I don't need it, so it is yours free if you want it.

The spindle OD is 1.75 inches. Is Hightowers threads different than other taig type chucks?

Not 100% sure. I think the thread might be the same. Just send a quick pm to Chris "cueman" and he will confirm it or not
Just pm me your address so I can send it out to you.
