how long did it take Mosconi to run his 526? I think its under 5 hours, Ja dont think so. Please solve the argument.

From wikipedia

"On March 19, in Springfield, Ohio, I ran 526 balls, a record that still stands. I was playing a two-hundred-point match against an amateur by the name of Earl Bruney in the East High Billiard Club. He made three balls off the break, then I ran two hundred and just kept going. The run took two hours and ten minutes, which means that over the span I averaged four balls a minute. I finally missed a difficult cut shot, but by that time I was weary; it was almost a relief to have it come to an end. There were about three hundred people in the audience, and one of them was an attorney who prepared an affidavit attesting to the validity of my claim to a new record. A few days later, the BCA gave its stamp of approval."

Tell him to pay up, Eric.

Willie said you could not be a great player without rhythm

Two hours is a lightning pace. Archer thinks it's over 5 hours, huge difference. JA looks and relooks and mulls over balls. It sometimes takes him a long time to shoot a ball. I think it probably would take at least 5 hours for Johnny to run 500+.

That's not a bad thing. Everyone shoots at their own pace. His just happens to sometimes be very slow. I actually think he plays better when he speeds up just a little, but it doesn't happen very often. It seems that when you can get in gear you speed up significantly, and you would have to be in a stellar gear to reach 526.

A lot of John Schmidt's practice runs are about 23 minutes or less per hundred. I see he had a 232 that took 50 minutes.

That seems pretty fast to me.

I saw Mosconi shoot several times -- he was fast. I mean really fast. Most times he'd almost run to the next shot, but gracefully, like a dancer. Very occasionally he'd look at shot for a moment and then shoot it off it a blink.

Johnny Archer is glacier compared to Mosconi's raging river.

when JA breaks the record it will take him a lot longer.

While we were filming the DVD on straight pool Nick Varner ran 105 in 50 minutes while talking through the process.

JA VS Thorsten

A race to 9 was the fastiest finals I've seen Johnny Play!! he was warmed up. thorston had just won over the Rocket. JA was undefeated and they playied 1 race. JA just raced over thorsten. I hate slow play. Rodney could do it in the 3 hr time frame-he's a natural shooter looks aimes fires ,cueball runs a couple rails. mark . what about Danny Harriaman he could be a 500 ball run for sure!!

Ja

I don't give a rat's ass how fast Johnny plays. I don't have the talent he has in his little finger! Hall-of-Fame'r !! I am not worthy to throw any negatives in his direction. One of the all time greats!

Two hours and twwenty minutes is not unreasonable. A lot of a shots would have been five or six seconds freeing up a lot of time for the tough situations which were probably few and far between.
