Paging Miss Sarah Rousey Klatt.

Here is the story Sarah. I live in Regina Saskatchewan. I practice in a friendly neighborhood bar called the Kings Head Tavern. Some time ago I met a guy that just moved from Manitoba to my city. Doesn't play pool or at least doesn't admit to it. He picks a pretty mean guitar and can sing pretty well tho.

He always comes up to the table while my buddy and I are playing and asks who is kicking whos butt tonight.

Well, last Saturday night, I was standing there with another local player, Chad who is a Master and my bud. This guy, Lawrence comes up and says, " I just got back from my cousins wedding in Bloomington Ill". Lawrence mentioned that his cousin is a pretty good 8 ball player (his words, not mine) and asks if we might have heard of him. I said, "whats your cousins name". Lawrence says, "his name is Jason Klatt". Chad and I look at each other, (kind of stunned at this point) of course we have heard of Jason, he is one of our favorite players along with John Morra. We cheer on our fellow Canuckians.

I said to Lawrence, "he married a girl by the name of Sarah Rousey".
Now it was Lawrences's turn to be shocked that we knew who, both his cousin is and the girl he married.

Small world sometimes, isn't it Sarah.
All my best,
Terry.

Regina? I was there on business for a couple of months the year of the El Nino winter. In December the guys were all laughing at me cuz I was in a giant down parka and looked like the Michelin man. Canada had gotten the benefit of the el nino I guess and the weather was unseasonably warm, 40s - 50's. After the holidays I went back in January and this arctic storm had come in. It was minus 45 ten days in a row and they weren't laughing at me anymore. That's the coldest I've ever been and I grew up in Chicago so that's saying something.

The Pats were on an extended road trip so I was told I could drive about 40 miles to see some WHL hockey and I became a die hard Moose Jaw Warrior fan. Went to about 9 or 10 games at the "Crushed Can" and still have my jersey.

Wow! It is a smaller world than we may think sometimes. Cool story! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks jam.
Hey Dogs, when it is minus 50 here you just don't pull out the old tally wacker and have a PP when ever you feel like it. It might fall off.

Seriously.

I remember getting to the airport and leaving the rental car counter. I stepped outside and literally couldn't inhale a breath of air. It was weird, I was trying but it was so cold my brain refused to tell my lungs to inhale the cold air. I literally had to go back inside and stand in the breezeway for a few minutes to acclimate to the cold before I could breath the air outside. It also explained the extension cord on the floor of the rental car and the electric outlets in front of each parking space at the hotel and at the company where I was working.

BTW, if anyone is interested in sending Sarah a wedding present I heard they are registered at the AZB Marketplace.

Shouldn't it be the "Mitchell'N" Man??? :D

Yeah, you're probably right but come visit my area in the dead of winter and you wouldn't be able to walk outside the airport without sunglasses because we have daylight. :D

I hear ya ! When we go south in February (to Mexico, Cuba, Dominican, etc) I want to walk back onto the air-conditioned airplane about 35 seconds after I step out of the thing :embarrassed2: I'm OK once I get into the pool by the swim-up bar

That is hilarious! He was actually the best man at Jason's fathers wedding 30 years ago! He was cutting a rug pretty well at the wedding. It really is a small, small world. He probably didn't realize that I am a professional pool player too and figured no one would know about what was going on! I hope he had good things to say about our crazy American wedding and partying ways!

Thanks for sharing the story...it's really quite awesome. And by the way, winter in Saskatchewan and Manitoba is just not enjoyable. I thought it was bad in Illinois, then I visited up there in December. I came home and it felt like Spring even though it was below zero!

You too eh, ya wimpy munchkin :p

Congratulations Sarah, I'll raise a glass to you and Jason this evening at Pacific Billiards.

Ya know Dave, when ever you meet someone from Manisnowba, you never ask, "Hows the weather"? We trade weather back and forth.

I will be seeing Lawrence this week as hes a regular at the Kings jam sessions. I will tell him you said Hi.
