I buried my cue today..in coffee grounds. Hope that wasn't someones idea of a joke..hopefully it will get the cig stink out. Looks like its going on the auction block.
Coffee is great at removing smells. I worked for Starbucks' corporate office and people would bring their goods into work, wrapped in coffee bags to hide the smell.
I'm not saying, i'm just saying
ha. thats funny and i can relate. about a year ago, i purchased an expensive fitted table cover. anyway, when i took it out of the box, it smelled like wicked BO. stunk up my entire basement. i spent at least two weeks wiping it down with leather cleaner, sprayed fabreze on it, wiped it down with lemon juice, even draped it over my truck bed outside in an attempt to air it out. nothing worked, it still smelled like a bag of jock straps. i ended up just throwing it away. i feel your pain.
Is it the wrap that smells, or the wood. Is it linen,,,,,,can't you just re-wrap it?
This reminds me of a good joke concerning smell.
A guy and his wife are driving down the road when they come across a road killed skunk with a baby skunk sitting near by. The woman says " pull over" so he does. She gets out picks up the baby skunk and tells her husband to go straight to the vet. As he's driving the little skunks shivering and she says "look how cold he is" and the husband replies "put him in-between your legs"......she says "what about the smell" and he husband replies......."hold his nose"
Honestly I never heard of a cue being returned because it smelled like smoke but I give you a lot of credit for trying. Regular or decaff?![]()
It's the wrap, yes I have had it re-wrapped three times by Dennis Searing. I'm over it.
Because of the place I play the cue has been re-wrapped 3 times. New wrap , no smell. After a year or so I would have it done again.
Feibings makes a reptile cleaner and conditioner. I know it works great on my boots. It will definitely soften and condition the lizard if you ever find it to be drying out a tad. As far as removing the cig smell, I have no idea.
If doing linen, I think Febreeze would work well like was suggested.
