Core it and add some metal to the cue. One of the big projects would be keeping it clean once you get down to final size. Most epoxy sealers will turn the holly yellow so you'd have to get it sealed with something water clear as soon as it is to size.

I like it for point stock next to ebony. I seal the heck out of it with schelak for keeping it clean during air sanding.
