What's your favorite tip?

I have always used the info at Pooldawg as a reference when buying a new tip. Great info on that site. But I just wish that suppliers would test a tip prior to sending it out so you don't get that "dud". We have all found inconsistencies within the same brand/category. I just want a tip to hit like the first time a tried one of the original layered moori ms. Man what a heck of feel and grab. Haven't found anything else to match it since.

Onyx. Thats another that people are talking about.

Haven't found anything else to match it since.

If you can't find an original Moori, why not try a Wizard.

If you ask over at the Machinery forum, the original Moori does come up for sale on occasion.

I have a book that has a fairly extensive tip rating section. It includes some of the older obscure tips. If anyone has a question about one of those. I can look to see if it is in there.

im almost talked into trying a couple new tips...kamui being one of them :-)

anyone have a bad experience with kamui?

When I used soft tips Blue Diamond tips were great, Im partial to med-hard tips now and
Tiger emerald tips are good but my fav is the Kamui black med right now.

I tried the Kamui and not knowing I bought the hard because thats what I normall use. well it felt like I was shooting with concrete. oops. anyway next time I will order a medium ori soft. so currently i am using a Bloodworth layered tip and I really happy with the results

Tiger Products' "Emerald"

Tiger Emeralds, for me. (Never was a layered tip fan, but the Tiger Emerald tip is a notable exception, and convinced me.)

Did you put on the Triangles yourself?
Did they just fall apart or did you just not like them and changed them 5 times in one month?

i can't speak for him but the few triangles i've tried were dried out. i've put plenty of tips on by hand and never had a problem with any. as long as you use a new razor it's no trouble at all

ive never noticed that they were dry or not.... they would literally lose their shape with a single hit, i could spend 5 minutes shaping it then hit a ball then have to do it again. i wish i would have taken pictures it was unbelievable

Kamui Soft

From Triangle to Morrie Med to Kamaui Brown Med. to Black when they were introduced several years ago.
Tried Black SS, Soft, Med.
Soft hits the best for me and I would compare it to Morrie Med. SS is too soft.
The Kamui Black claims to work better under high humidity. Some tips will soften. Seems true.
If you miscue with a Kamui and Master chalk, its your own fault. I don't see a need to buy more expensive chalk.
Also like the last4ever tip tool I Just purchased. This is as important as a good tip as a small flat spot can form. I use dime shaped.

The difference between a hard and medium kamui black is minimal on the durometer thingy, I think. The mediums don't feel hard to me in the slightest.

Get this, I've miscued the first shot after roughing up a kamui black with a kamui gator grip, and then liberally applying a load of kamui chalk.

Can anyone beat that in the 'spunking money up the wall and STILL miscueing stakes'?

Miscue is my middle name. I miscued three times today straight after applying kamui chalk.

My favorite tip is what ever is on the end of the shaft, I just shave it down until it is a hard as I like and then use it until it falls off.

What do you reckon "recycled pig leather" means?

These are probably the trimmings from the lamination sheet after other tips have been dye-cut from it.

At least that is my off-the-cuff guess. :o
