John Brumback's "Bank Pool Secrets of a World Champion"

50 bucks for i would say at least 50 different bank examples.

To cheap for all that info.

I was having a brutal time banking on the old diamond tables. I emailed Bert Kinister and he did a big explanation on one of his new dvds explaining why. That was a big help but i was still struggling. Johns dvd took me right on track with his secrets.

So for 50 you cnt go wrong.

He does seem a very nice fella but $50? Not ever, on a point of principle.

Only in pool.

I am fully aware of the fact that I cannot convince you that, at least this one time, you are making a mistake. I can be as big a cheapskate as the next guy, and generally agree that there are many, many pool products and DVDs that are not worth much. However, this DVD is worth every penny. It would be worth every penny at twice, or even three times the price -- what is on it is that good.

Standing on principle can make you feel pretty good. But for me, making banks more consistently feels pretty good too. And yesterday, when I nailed a couple and relieved my opponent of more than enough dough to cover the cost of the DVD, it felt even better ;-)

Nice review, Lou! I have a copy but haven't looked at the whole thing yet. I just can't seem to get around to it:o What I've seen so far looks good, though. It has to be the best thing out there on banking, that's for sure.

I only have 1 thing to complain about... I sought out JB at the DCC to buy a copy from him in person.... I paid my 49.95 and he offered me my nickle back as well LOL....

I stuck it in the control room and forgot about it until I got home... When I opened it once I got home I noticed that he didn't autograph it anywhere......

John!!!! Ya gotta autograph the ones people buy from ya personally from now on.......... :idea2:

What I find sad is that many will pass this DVD by but will spend nearly the same amount for a single piece of chalk.

Hmmmm no offense to John but if I had to choose I'd have to buy the chalk.... It works on straight ins as well as stuhraight backs... LOL

My chalk looks like it will last at least a year so luckily I was able to buy both

IF my DVD was autographed the race with Kamui chalk might have swung the other way....

I concur with Lou, this is one powerful DVD. If you are serious about improving your Bank game then this DVD is a must have. John's laid back style is easy to digest and he has a strong clear voice so you won't miss anything he says. I also like his repetitions of the same bank so you can watch different parts of what he does when he executes the shot. I especially liked the use of slow motion on many of the shots, although I wish they had used it on all of them. It's a good production with excellent camera work, good lighting, good audio and a nice clear picture. That makes it that much better. It has the look of a professional production and not something just thrown together.

I like to pause the DVD and try to duplicate what he's doing on a shot. I'm a reasonably good banker but he opened my eyes on several things. I felt like he was talking directly to me, since I was making many of the mistakes he talked about . He definitely shares some "secrets" of banking that have not been widely publicized previously. I can honestly say that I learned a few things from watching this DVD. It's really more for the intermediate or better banker and not for rank amateurs. They will not be able to execute these shots even if shown how. In all honesty, there are some shots on here that were hard for me to duplicate, even after seeing how they were done. You can't teach stroke! lol

Yes it's true, the price is high for a pool DVD, but the knowledge is invaluable. It's like having John give you a private lesson or two. How much would that be worth? John was hesitant to put this out there at first, because he knew it would also help his opponents. If you can afford it, it's well worth the price. If not then take a pass. Like I said, it's a valuable tool for the serious banker. In fact for any serious pool player who wants to learn to bank better. :thumbup2:

Why is it that all the good bankshot players hail from Kentucky? :p

Congratuations, John, on the DVD. It looks like it's a must-have for anyone who wants to advance their game. I mean, think about it. How often can a bank shot pull your neck out of a noose on a field of green?! ;)

If anyone has a used copy they want to get rid of PM me with a reasonable price.

Please buy one straight from John and support the man who has put a whole life of hard work, practice, and dedication into the game of bank pool. $50 is a very small price to pay for the wealth of information contained in this DVD.

John deserves the business... it hate to see it when these pros put out a DVD and people start copying them, or watch them once or twice and put them on the secondary market. It is not fair to them as this is how they make their living.

Not exactly all of em Jam.. There are a few from SW Ohio that I can recall, Spaeth, Donnie Anderson, Jason Miller and a few more from Chicago area too..

Just busting your chops, of course I know that you are well aware, just wanted to throw the fella's from my area a bone too.. We are REAL close to Kentucky though!!:smile::smile:

Can't agree with this line of reasoning at all.

Really??? So you believe that illegally pirating copies of a DVD is perfectly acceptable? :scratchhead:

I do when it's fifty bloody dollars a pop! Christ, how have we got into this situation? No wonder pool is a dead man's game with BS like this. High time we democratised the game.
