Rules concerns

The details everyone enjoys overlooking is that Jerry Forsyth, a pricipal in AZB is the one who made these particular rules.

Maybe some really think that complaining to me will somehow change Jerry's rules?

Same guys that complain about speeding tickets when they get nailed too.

Please, if you don't like them...petition him.

Please answer my question, if a Guy sells a cue on every on average every 10 days for 2 1/2 years is he considered a dealer?
 
Desi, per my first post in this thread.....

If you're not sure then the rule probably applies to you.

If you want something written in stone, it doesn't exist.

If you want further clarification, you should probably ask Jerry yourself.
 
sellers as in dealers.

for dealers there is a market place area. advert your business there. if you have a store front, business license, and employees to pay then obviously you're a dealer. i appreciate keeping dealers out of the wanted/for sale area when their only interest is in selling inventory. its not that they dont have something worthwhile but i dont want to be flooded by dealers hawking wares. it's whats happened to ebay over the long haul. they started off as a arena for the small guy. now 70% or more is drop ship type dealers, or store front owners, very little person to person garage sale like business anymore. dont want that to happen to azbilliards. trying to keep it all honest from person to person can be difficult, but pay pal or escrow can help defeat that. people that have bought from me have been very pleased, and likewise for the people i have bought from. thanks gerald

Yes, that person would be a dealer.

I've tried to sell one cue for 3 1/2 years and still have it.

If you sell 1 cue every 10 days you are a cue dealer.
 
Right now there are a minimum 8 posts with new items for sale on the first page of the Wanted/For Sale forum... what's up with that? :confused:
 
Rules

I think an easy way to simplify the rules would be to use a simple list with whatever criteria Jerry or Wilson desires.

1. Anyone can post and sell pool related items in the for sale forum.

2. Only one thread per month.

3. Only three items per for sale thread.

4. One bump per day if the sale item has not received any other replies.
 
just a suggestion to "those with issues" of rule breakers.....

How about you document these members and submit your findings to AZB moderators?

No, you shouldn't have to do this but if you want to see things change.................AND If you don't care enough to do anything, then quit b!tching!!!

As for the people that don't want to see a bunch of meucci's, lucasi's, sneaky pete's, how about you don't click on them.... one mans chevy is another mans corvette

And for the issue with 'thread bumping', use your head. If someone posts in your thread, "SWEET CUE DUDE! GLWS!" No need to reply 2 minutes later with "THANKS! HITS A TON, MONSTER CUE HERE, PMS REPLIED!!!" People know that you replied to their pms. Most of the time, thats a lie anyway and it just makes you feel better than just saying "Daily bump"....

So, lets all stop with the what ifs and have a nice Valentines Day!!! :kiss:

I know logic is strained at times, but this doesn't say that NOBODY can sell new items, just dealers.

I don't know why this is so hard to understand.

Seriously... I just read the rules again and I'm still confused... I really am.

So can a so-called Dealer post an Ebay link to a new cue... is that acceptable? It seems so the way I understand it. The rules also so state a "small quantity" of used items can be sold by individuals... what is a "small quantity"?

The reason for all the questions coming up are the rules are not clearly stated... or there would not be all the questions.

I'm not trying to be a smart a$$... I really don't understand all the rules. There seems to be a lot of ambiguity... either that or I'm just not that bright... it is probably the latter...

I just dont like to see some people follow the rules and others dont and get away with it.
If the mods consider me and other builders as dealers so be it, but we are not the only ones. I think there are some who get a pass or fly under the radar.

My view is that 5 items per year would be unreasonably low, i.e. not fair, for defining a "dealer."

I'll use myself as an example. Three of the four years I have been a member here, I have sold more than five items. But I've never purchased anything related to pool for the purpose of reselling it for a profit. I purchase things solely for my own use. When I sell something, it's because I am no longer using it myself or never did use it (and have decided that I never will). Most of the things I have sold have been at a loss; a few have been at a profit because of the change in value during the period I owned them.

I'm just a pool-playing hobbyist, not a dealer in any sense. I appreciate being able to buy and sell pool items here for my own use. I'm sure I own dozens of pool items. Even if I sold all of them, I would be no dealer, and would recoup only a fraction of their original cost. So trying to define "dealer" by using a fairly low number of sales in the prior year would definitely tag some people inappropriately.

I have not sold more than 5 items per year on here, and I don't see me ever selling more than 5, but I think 5 is a little low. I don't think a dealer or cue flipper would be doing too good of business to sell only 1 item each month, let alone only 5 per year. Personally I would think listing 1 item a month would not classify someone as a dealer, and be a reasonable number if number of sales would be implemented.

The exception being if they have their own website where they buy and sell cues or pool related items, or if they are a known custom cue or case maker, or they have many of the same item, etc., then its pretty obvious they are a dealer.

I do hope the custom cue, case, & joint protector makers, etc continue to post on here with links to eBay or their websites. There are many talented people on here and I love seeing their work .
