I'll start with this cocobolo conversion - the cue started life as a 1940s house cue. They were $2.75 in the 1942 Brunswick catalog.
Notice the points are pointy on both ends and the veneer colors are nice and subdued. I'm not a fan of the gaudy purple and green veneers of the 60s & 70s.
