So we were playing our apa 9 ball the other night. This guy that was a 4, broke. It was not particularly hard or strong, but it did move the balls. One went in, another, and another, and two in that pocket, and another.....he sank 6 on the break and ball 7 was hanging, and another was about an inch from the pocket. The 9 ball only moved about 6 inches from the spot.

I can't remember anyone sinking 6 on the break that I have seen. He was so close to 7 on the break. I must have witnessed hundreds of thousand 9 ball breaks and I can't remember 6 on the break.

And here is the thing that makes you crazy with these apa 4's...he made the 7, made the 8 and had horrendous position for the 9 so there was no B&R Patch for him.

I'm was a 7 when I quit APA and I still can't take a 3 ball run for granted. I wish I had a consistently good break!

i am a 4 in 9 ball and a 5 in 8 ball. last week i made 3 balls in 3 consecutive breaks in 9 ball. never run out once :(

I made 6 balls on the break 1 time in my 25 years of playing 9-ball.It was on my 7ft diamond proam, and it was with a B/E cocobola J/breaker with laminated shaft and a phenolic tip I was making for a guy with no finish on it.

I've never seen a break that good in person. I'm pretty sure Alex has a break on YouTube where he pockets 6 and also fails to run out

I've made 5 on the break 3 times. One of those was a week ago. I ran out two of the three. The first time I did it I was frozen to a ball and hooked from the object ball so I had no shot.

I have never seen more than 5 in person.

I remember seeing a guy make 7 balls on the break once. Crazy part was that he rolled into being hooked for his second shot. I don't believe I have seen more than 4 on the break other than just this one time.

I think I recall watching Massey make 6 on tv many years ago. He too was hooked.

6 on the break

I have made 6 on the break before. Wide open table couldn't get out, it was on an 8' sport king.

I made 6 on the break once playing 9ball on a bad break.

I broke too hard, jumped the cb, hit the one ball off center, cb jumped high, missed the light, landed on the side cushion edge, went back into the stack again.

I was hooked. I miscued pushing out while I was cussing and laughing.

He ran out. We both laughed pretty hard at that. I think this is what started my nickname 'the curse' in that particular room....still makes me laugh and shake my head.

Odd things happen in this game.

I have made 5 on the break twice. Both on 9 footers. I ran out one, and was hooked on the other.

Never seen more than 5 in person.

I have made 6 on the break twice but the most memorable break was when i Broke the one ball in half!!! They let me keep it still have it:thumbup:

Wait........... You get a patch for breaking and running a rack of 9 ball on a bar box?????? :rotflmao1:

As a beginner, the first time I played in the little weekly Moose 9 ball tourney, I did this very thing in the first rack of my first match. Broke 6 in an a valley bar box and was so nervous/excited that I couldn't get out. It was humiliating. I went on to lose the set and make an early exit from the tourney.

Never had 6 since, but I think if it happens again, I am probably getting out...

I don't know if you do, but we play on 9'-ers. We even play in one old mens club that has a 10' table. Our division is all men's clubs.

Friend of mine made 7 on the break while we were practicing. Had a dead combo on the 9. He had a killer break and rarely ever came up dry.
