Difference between a Predator Sneaky and a P2

I am currently shooting with a Predator Sneaky SP4JRW w/ a 314-2 (i actually just got another as a gift - sigh). Im gonna be selling it soon to cover the cost of the P2 i just bought..Anyways, I have a Predator P2 (black w/ leather) on the way which i will be attaching to my 314-2.

To the people who have shot with both the Predator Sneaky and a P2, what are some of the differences between both cues ? Feel/feedback/sound/ etc etc

Unless they use a different pin, there should be little if any differance. The sneaky is full spliced and P-2 has all laiminated parts. Both are made by the same people and both are imported.

The difference I can feel (I think) is that the handle is a little thicker in your grip hand in all the sneakies I've played with. I think any 2 Preds with the same joint, shaft and tip are going to feel (hit wise) about the same.

Thanks

Kevin

thank you for your opinion..

I was actually hoping it'll hit harder than sneaky.. like a more solid feel..

If you want a stiffer "pop" have a custom butt built with a solid nose built from a stiff wood.

Well,I'm going to go in the other direction in my opinion.I've played with tons of Predators including the P3 which I hated but the P2 was without a doubt the most solid hitting Predator of all time. The butt construction plays a huge part in the feel and for me compared to a sneaky, feels stiffer with a better sounding tone after striking the cue-ball.Just remember the P2 Predator was the only cue Predator ever produced from the start of the Predator Co,that was made in Jacksonville Florida at Predator. It's not a import and wasn't built by Falcon like alot of the older ones were. When I think pure Predator, the P2 is the only one.

Thats what i like about the P2 - a slightly thinner butt.

The sneaky is about as stiff as a predator gets. The laminated p2 is much softer.

:frown: I've read countless of P2 reviews and have no idea why some are getting stiffer hits while some are getting softer..

Thats what Neil Fujiwara from Predator have been saying all along. Its hands down one of the most sought after cues they have produced.

Im just annoyed with the completely opposite opinions everyones experiencing. I understand that feel is subjective to every player so im just gonna expect a medium hit..

The P2 is stiffer than the standard sneaky and seems to have a better balance. Other than that there really is no difference

Just an FYI.... At DCC Appleton and Dechaine were both PLAYING with BK2 butts.... One of the reason I like mine is it seems to hit crisper than most other predator butts I have tried.. I hated my sneaky to the point I salvaged the shaft and gifted the butt to a new local player equipped with a decent maple shaft.........

For me,if I had the same shaft put on any uniloc butt and a P2,I would know blind-folded which one was the P2.Keep in mind I'm a very picky guy on the hit and the feel of a cue
and if I could only pick one Predator to ever have out of all of them it would be the P2 without a doubt. As far as other opinions, certain cues don't jive with everybody's game, could be balance, feel,or look.Personally I like all 3 but thats me:smile:Goodluck

I know poolfiend has a sneaky with a radial pin in it and it is the stiffest cue I have hit with.

Thats kinda what im expecting.. and honestly ill be ok even with just a stiffer hit with everything else remaining similar.

I've had 2 p2's and about 7-8 of the green sneaky's and 1 red sneaky. Both P2's were wrapless, and both were stiffer than any of the sneaky's i had. The biggest difference was the balance point between the sneaky and the P2. the P2 feels great to me, I am assuming because of the way it is made. No matter the reason, I think you will like it

I think the P2 was manufactured in Florida from when it first came out til the day it retired.
