Are there any tell tale signs of a kirsenbrock or a dpk?
Didn't dpk omega mark their pins with their name?
Did either kirsenbrock or omega flare the end of the butt or make 5 point cues?

Although I haven't worked on many Omega's, I don't believe that they did either, 5 point nor flare. I have however worked on and made a number of S/W shafts. Old DPKs and S/W however can be differentiated as they had different pins. The old DPKs pin, although the same thread was a little larger than the S/W's. A DPK shaft will go onto a S/W but loosely where as a S/W shaft is to tight of a fit on a DPK.

Send it to Laurie Franklin.
Send it to Laurie...she has all the record and they can tell you if it's a SW or SW DPK. I had a really nice old SW made in 1985-88 and it turn out to be a cue that DPK work on while he was at SW. So they know very well who make what cue.
Regards,
Duc.

Kersenbrock and Omega/ dpk are two different animals. Which one are you considering buying?
Did Bender do the pantograph work on Omega DPK cues or did David do most of the Pantograph work? Back when they were still going someone told me that they kept David doing inlay work while the others built the cues.Murray's right...Omega/DPK is completely different than Kersenbrock.
Only the Omega/DPK has the flare and *3/8-14 pin...(which i believe mike bender uses in his cues now).
example:

Omega/DPK was started with Kersenbrock...and Mike Bender did a majority of the cues. Only the super fancy Omega DPK's were done by Kersenbrock
here's what i believe to be an example of a Kersenbrock that was made at the Omega/DPK shop:

Look at the pin..looks like an 3/8-14 pin...the same one used for Omega/DPK
In December 2010 ..some left over Omega DPK blanks/ unfinished cues were sold by scdiveteam ...azb member.

A few of these were completed but not by Kersenbrock or Mike Bender.
Bottom line..when looking for a Kersenbrock..make sure it is regardless of the fee.
Dick, i'm now told that southwest used a 3/-11 pin while omega dpk used a 3/18-14 pin
No malice intent, just trying to identify what this gentleman is triyng to sell me.
thanks
